SHALOM! The following are actual tour testimonials from people who have traveled on an Israel Tour with Biblical Israel Ministries & Tours. With trips having resumed in January 2022 (after 16 tours were postponed because of Covid since March 2020), this page now includes a number of new testimonials from 2023 (and earlier 2022) trips! Praise be to God for the life-changing experiences that has had such a deep impact in the faith walks of so many! It is so very humbling to be small part of God’s growth process in the lives of followers of Christ! There is no better 2-week discipleship experience than to be in Israel engaging with the text, the land, and with God!

Below are un-edited testimonials that touch on both tour experiences as well as safety. As you read through what people have shared, we hope it will become apparent of the type of Israel tour we lead: rock-solid life-changing journeys of a lifetime! Both your mind (e.g. new insights gained about the land of the Bible) and your heart (e.g. a deepened walk with Christ) will be touched in indescribable ways! We would be honored to be able to share our ministry with you!

I highly recommend Biblical Israel Ministries & Tours with Dr. John DeLancey without reservation. My tour of Israel and Jordan far exceeded my expectations as an informative, thorough, experientially satisfying, and spiritually-impactful journey through the Bible lands. John is able to connect the geography of the land to the biblical text in ways that add new dimension to even casual reading of the Bible. John’s experience as a tour guide guarantees efficiency that allows exposure to maximum sites and optimizes use of time and travel. John’s teaching is peppered with recent archaeological discoveries and excavations based on stellar scholarship. John often offers optional outings in the evenings that allow for meaningful interaction with the modern cultures of Israel and Jordan. All Bible-believers should make this voyage at least once in their lifetime with a guide such as Dr. John DeLancey who brings Scripture to life within its original context and with solid biblical teaching.”  Jessica Taylor (PhD student & Bible Teacher, Dallas, TX)

Personal Testimonies from Past Tours

Dr. John’s biblical tour of Israel far exceeded my expectations!  As a pastor, I wanted a biblical tour of Israel that would help me understand the context of scripture, so that I could improve my weekly preaching. This is exactly what Dr. John offers.  Each day is packed with scripture references and connecting dots from scripture to physical locations. This tour helped me understand the history of that time which has huge implications on understanding the context of Bible.  John has learned how to get the most out of each day. This is not your typical “tourist” trip, it’s so much more.  At one of our stops along the Sea of Galilee, John gave us some time to go and reflect with Jesus in the very place He walked.  I found that time very meaningful.  If you are looking for a biblical tour of Israel and seeing some sites that are off the “beaten path”, then Biblical Israel Tours is definitely the one for you.  My hope is to offer a trip for our entire church through John’s ministry. Thank you John for dedicating this season of your life to help make the Bible come alive!”  Pastor Rick (May, 2023, RI)

“Immersive. Exceeded my expectations. Just wow. Thank you.Ashley (May, 2023, OH)

I researched many tours of Israel before deciding on John DeLancey’s. I have never seen another tour that covers all the places we saw.  My favorites were the Sea of Galilee, baptism in the Jordan, the waterfalls at Ein Gedi, and Jerusalem. We had a great group with believers from all over the U.S., the U.K., and New Zealand.  We saw places that I have never seen mentioned on other tours, such as the site where David fought Goliath, and a cave in Bethlehem where we sang Christmas carols. It was a bit physically challenging at times, but there were always options to avoid the more strenuous ventures. There was never a dull moment! The hotels were great as were the food buffets. John and Schlomo (our Jewish guide) were very knowledgeable about each site. Our bus driver, David, was also very skilled at his job. If you want to see the real Israel I highly recommend this tour.Karen & Jim (May 2023, MA)

My husband and I went on the May 2023 trip to Israel to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I simply can’t say enough about this trip. I searched online for a trip that was truly Biblical, not just one that pointed out holy sites. This trip was just that…Biblical. The Biblical, historical, and archeological knowledge of Dr. DeLancey is outstanding. The cultural insights from our Israeli guide, Shlomo, and Dr. DeLancey, made all the pieces come together. I loved that the trip was so active, with walking and hiking. Though you must experience it firsthand to fully grasp it, standing in the actual places you’re reading about in your Bible, it’s overwhelming, it’s meaningful, it’s eye-opening. And when he says, sites that are “off-the-beaten-path,” he means it! It was just amazing.

I had some reluctance before we left because I have never traveled internationally and I have a fear of heights. I will say, most days I was out of my comfort zone with regard to heights, but I managed and really enjoyed it. Each day was packed with visits to sites and Scripture and reflective times. We are already planning our next trip! I learned so much, yet I feel like I could see it all again and soak in so much more. Our group was fantastic. The weather was nice in May. Can’t wait to be back!!Angie (May, 2023, GA)

It has been a decades-long dream for my wife and I to travel to Israel.  We went for our 30th wedding anniversary in May 2023 and our expectations were exceeded with Pastor John. Our goal was to see as many sites as possible, embrace the culture and learn from the history of the Holy Land. Pastor John is a combination of Indiana Jones, Billy Graham and the Energizer Bunny.  We hit over 45 sites in 10 days, ate some amazing food, made friends and experienced the Bible in living color.  Upon our return, just like Pastor John said, we now read the Bible in 3D.  Super cool.  Our walk with Jesus is deeper than before and we are so grateful for our time in Israel.  We highly recommend BIMT.Bryan & Tamara (May 2023, NY)

This is more than just a tour of the holy land: it is a life-change encounter with the land of the Bible. It will transform your reading of the Bible from black and white into living color. Dr. John kept the trip’s focus on experiencing Israel and then, following the trip, provided multiple resources that added depth to what we experienced.” Mark (May, 2023, IA)

Our 12 days Biblical tour to Israel was a journey of a lifetime. We had a great and memorable time. Imagine tours and travels is very organized. We had excellent hotels and good food. Dr John Delancey quoted the Scriptures that happened on every site we visited. Shlomo, our local tour guide was brilliant. On top of that, David is very good and experienced coach driver. He brought snacks for us too. We highly recommend them on your travel to the Holy land.” Conrad & Leny (May, 2023, UK)

If you are considering traveling to Israel and Jordan, I highly recommend BIMT and Dr. Rev. John Delancey.  His knowledge of archaeology and the Bible allowed him to provide many insights at the various locations we visited by reading the scriptures associated with each location. The Israeli guide, Shlomo, is also excellent when discussing the history of the area and discussing current events.  The bus driver, David, blessed us all with the way he drove flawlessly around the tight curves, in narrow passages, and on dirt roads.  One of the nice things about the tour was the flexibility we had to make changes to the itinerary.  We were able to visit Cana (where Jesus changed the water into wine), not on the original itinerary, and a couple other of locations were added.  I now read the Bible with different eyes realizing how far apart many of the towns are and how quickly the terrain changes.  Going from Mt Meron, over 3900 ft above sea level, 129 miles to the Dead Sea about 1375 ft below sea level.” Jay (May, 2023, PA)

Do not even consider another Israel trip if you are interested in something deeper than a sightseeing tour. The mission of BIMT is to equip Christians to read and study the Bible and the ministry of Jesus in context. First, John is very knowledgeable and passionate about archeology. He lived and studied archeology in Jerusalem in the 1980s.  He continues to participate in digs on a regular basis throughout Israel. He has and continues to work alongside leading archeologists in-country. Second John has a deep understanding of the ancient history of the land promised to Abraham—all the way from the flood through the Ottoman Empire and up to modern times. Third, John is an evangelical Christian and Bible scholar who seamlessly “connects the dots” between what we are seeing and experiencing, Bible stories and historical context. He is also fluent in the Hebrew language. John plays the guitar and leads in song at well-appointed times—adds to the emotion of the site and story.

The Israeli guide is “beyond”. He is university educated and has been a tour guide for 38 years.  He has a very broad knowledge of ancient regional and Biblical history.  He grew up in a Kibbutz. His father’s family where all killed in the Holocaust in Poland. He sings, plays the recorder and has a sense of humor. He is well versed in modern history of the region. He is able to communicate in a scholarly yet insightful way. Hotels are modern and 4-5 stars. Bus drivers are phenomenal (regularly got applause for ability to maneuver and park the bus with an inch to spare!).”  Nancy (March, 2023, ND)

“Israel/ Jordan is easily one of the most incredible trips I’ve taken, and I’m so fortunate to have been able to share the experience with both my wife Marcy and youngest son Trinity.  There are a lot of positive things to say about Israel. I quickly discovered that a vast majority of the tourists there were visiting for religious reasons (primarily Christians and Jews). Even though it’s a tiny country, the amount and variety of natural beauty was nothing short of breathtaking. What’s even more amazing is the amount of history every corner of the country has. It’s one thing to be able to see a beautiful mountain or the desert or the sea, but I was blown away by the combination of history and natural beauty. The food in Israel was probably among the best I’ve had anywhere. For the most part it was Mediterranean style. I can’t say enough positive things about our amazing tour guides who were fun and inspirational to be around. If you are interested in touring Israel, I highly recommend Biblical Israel Ministries & Tours. Dr. John Delancey and his group were incredible on so many levels.

In conclusion this was an indescribably special trip for Marcy and I.  This is a memory I’ll never forget having with my youngest son. However, as I was told before I visited, Israel is really a country where you have to get out of the big cities. Between the amazing historical sites, great food, etc., Israel has to be one of the most underrated tourist destinations out there. I can’t recommend it enough.”  Glen & Marcy (March, 2023, ND)

As a renewed mid-life Christian, I was not sure what to expect but how can you really know what you will experience on a trip to the holy land.  I know my faith has been strengthened and I am bolder in sharing my faith with friends and family many of whom reject Christianity or as many are simply unchurched. I highly recommend BIMT and Dr John Delancey’s gifts, talents, and experience in organizing, managing logistic details and most importantly, sharing biblical history, archeology, and context to many biblical stories of the OT and NT.  Dr. DeLancey truly brings scripture to life and renewed meaning to my personal faith.  Jesus sets examples, many times in his ministry to pray, worship and point the way to himself.  Dr. DeLancey combines scripture messages of historical events in various regions of the holy land that confirms our faith is true.  I am probably not explaining this as best I could, but my faith and life will continue to be transformed.

Dr. DeLancey has developed deep relationships with his team of Israeli and Jordanian guides, transportation and hotel accommodation resources allowing us to have a very full and active schedule.  Learning about Israeli and Jordanian life thru the experiences of in country guides was refreshing and helped me develop a better understanding of the complexities and challenges of life in this region. Thank you.”  Kent (March, 2023, WA)

We found the Biblical Israel Tour  online.  After speaking to Dr. DeLancey several times where he answered all of our questions thoroughly, we were excited about our  adventure in Israel.  John helped us prepare for this trip spiritually, physically and suggested many details we would not have considered.  Because of his experience in and passion for archeology, history, geography, and theology, we had a deeply rich time while in Israel and Jordan.

This trip offered many adventures with a wide variety of interests.  His energy and ability to make experiences come alive was rewarding and appreciated.  It was amazing how many sites and opportunities we squeezed into this two-week tour.  His attention to detail including our Israeli guides, our bus driver, scheduling, admittance, hotels, food, and venues was remarkable.  Because everything was so well-planned, we enjoyed our time with no worries. We met a group of wonderful fellow-travelers who displayed good humor, grace, and a thirst for knowledge and adventure.  It was enjoyable to meet people from all over the United States, Canada, and Switzerland.  We were thankful for health and safety for all. We would highly recommend this tour.  The Bible has become so much richer.  We will never read the Bible the same way again.  We look forward to touring again with John and his staff.”  Chris and Kathy (March, 2023, MI)

My wife and I recently joined John DeLancey for a 14 day trip to Israel and Jordan. The trip absolutely exceeded our expectations. As we walked through the different historical sites, John provided in depth insights, biblical background supporting the history of the site and archeological clarity for the accuracy and validity of the claims. John and his support staff provide far more than simply a tour of holy land. John often provided firsthand accounts of archaeological digs he had participated in during his many years of training, education, and research. We also had the good fortune to learn about the Holy Land through the eyes of our Jewish Guide, Shlomo Ben-Asher. Shlomo’s family actually experienced, first hand, the atrocities of the holocaust. His personal reflections on that sad period of human history was sobering to hear. And Finally, our transportation, lodging, and meals were all EXCELLENT! I absolutely recommend you consider touring Israel with John DeLancey if you choose to visit the Holy Land.”  John & Lynn (March, 2023, TX)

This was an incredible trip! I thought I had an idea of what we’d see because I’ve taken an interest in Israel over the years, but it far outweighed my expectations. I have to tell you we saved for this spiritual journey for about 8 years and were so grateful for all you provided. The guides were full of in depth and personal information, not to mention Shlomo’s music! One of my favorite sites was Shiloh and I couldn’t help but be awestruck by the sacredness of where we were and the beautiful devotional you provided. Now that we are back, I am constantly looking up places as I read my Bible. It’s wonderful to imagine what happened when I was actually there! Thank you for your work to make this the trip of a lifetime!” Marylyn (February, 2023, NE)

My trip to Israel with Dr. John DeLancey was definitely a “trip of a lifetime” and one I will never forget!  What a joy to “walk where Jesus walked” and to experience Israel from a Biblical perspective!  In my daily Bible reading , since returning home, I’ve already experienced “aha” moments when I was able to say to myself….”I know where that is…I was there!”  I will never read my Bible the same way again!

Sharing this experience with other believers from other parts of the country was an extra special blessing…singing together, devotions and reflections together, praying and sharing communion together were all so special!!!  I gained lots of information while in Israel but as Pastor Chris, from PA shared, “information + application = transformation” and that’s my heart’s desire!!  Thanks, Dr. DeLancey, for sharing your love for Israel with us and pointing us to Jesus at the same time!!  What a blessing!” Carrie (January, 2023, NE)

My January 2023 Tour of Israel with John Delancey and BIMT, was really more like an expedition than a tour. It was about discovery instead of a vacation. Everything about the logistics of the experience allowed me to just let go and trust. Because of that I was free to open up and take in the evidence left by generations that are long departed. In my Christian walk progress has come through knowledge and faith and the Holy Spirit. The journey has added sight, sound, and touch. With John’s skill and knowledge the testimony of various prophets come together to link God’s Word to history.

I have already noticed the new depth and curiosity that I experience when reading biblical stories I read before. The whole experience has taken me from believer to witness. I intend to walk forward with a new boldness, listening obediently to the Holy Spirit with each step.” Alan (January, 2023, WI)

I just completed my second trip to Israel with Dr. John DeLancey and Biblical Israel Ministries and Tours. This time, I had the privilege of taking fifteen people from our church with me.  I experienced great joy in watching each of these folks see the sites where Old and New Testament figures carried out their lives and ministries come to life.  For me, the second visit to many of these places deepened my appreciation for the accuracy and authenticity of the biblical accounts that are the foundation of my faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. John has a powerful way of bringing the Bible, archeology, history and geography together.   This is not merely a bus tour through Israel.  We had the opportunity to walk, hike and climb through places where Jesus walked, hiked, and climbed.  We rode a boat on the Sea of Galilee, and imagined from that vantage point what it must have been like for the disciples to see Jesus walking toward them on the water in the middle of the night, or to cry out for Him to wake up as they experienced a devastating storm.  I am grateful to John for his ongoing efforts to give each of us a life-changing experience of the Holy Land.”  Rev. Dr. Chris(January, 2023, PA)

Greetings Dr. John. I want to say how grateful and blessed I am to be part of this tour. It exceeded any expectations I might have had. The coordination and the teaching and the accommodations, and the meals, and Schlomo and David. A spectacular experience and I cannot wait to start promoting you and your ministry. Most grateful, thank you is not enough.” Mark (January 2023, MN)

What a great opportunity I had to walk literally for two weeks in Israel! What a tremendous blessing and experience! Nearly four years after my graduation from STEP, I can see how powerful God’s Word is to transform people’s lives. I learned so much at STEP, but I still realized there were many names of places and proximity that didn’t make sense to me because I had no context. This time in Israel opened my eyes in a completely different way.  I visited many places and now understand their connection with the Bible.

The places I visited included the Dead Sea, Arad, Qumran, Masada, the Jordan River, Magdala, Galilee, Capernaum, Caesarea, Caesarea Philippi, Jerusalem, the Garden Tomb, Golan Heights, Tel Dan , Bet-She’an, Gezer, and more.  In particular, there is one place called En Gedi that stuck in my mind.  It is a place of refuge because this is the place where David fled from Saul.  This place also reminds me of 2 Chronicles 20:12: ‘We are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.’ To summarize, Dr. John Delancey, our guide, said, “Living daily by faith is the essence of following Jesus.“ I want to thank God for someone like Dr. DeLancey who has the gift of teaching and a heart for ministry. I also want to thank God for new friends we have met during this trip.” Becky (January, 2023 NC)

“My husband and I toured Israel with John DeLancey tours in January 2023. It is difficult to even express our thanks and appreciation to John, Schlomo, and David for the amazing journey they took us on. It was worth every penny (shekel) and more. This team ensured a smooth Spiritual, educational, and experiential journey that I will suggest might  not be experienced in most tours. They made sure we all had what we needed and were where we needed to be in a most amazing, respectful, passionate manner that even met my expectations (which are very high). They have a passion to share their knowledge, love for God, country, people, and history that is unprecedented.

The days were full of visits to historical archeological sites, spiritual sites, a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, Baptism in the Jordan, a float in the Dead Sea and so much more. The interactions and education included hiking, viewing, praying, singing, and connecting each experience to biblical history and scripture were phenomenal. The team went out of their way to be sure to visit unusual sites and visit at the times when the least amount of people and other tours were present. We frequently had places mostly to ourselves providing for deeper learning, spiritual connecting and overall experience. The team supported individual growth and needs as well as those of various church teams who joined the tour. They also supported a group with a special wheeled chair who offered the opportunity for a handicapped woman to experience the trip. This added extra planning and need for patience to the tour leaders and they were amazing. Thanking God for this team and this opportunity to experience, learn, and grow in the Land of our Lord.Alan & Cynthia (January, 2023 FL)

Thanks, John, for all the GREAT info. and again for ALL you did and shared with our group!  My trip to Israel w/ you was truly a “trip of a lifetime” and one I will NEVER forget!!!!  I’ve already had a chance to share with several bits and pieces about my trip and what a testimony it was! My beautician was touched to tears!!  You just amaze me, John, w/ your knowledge, memory and great physical shape!  Thanks for ALL you do!!!  I will NEVER read my Bible the same ever again, thanks to you!!!  My heart is overflowing w/ gratitude!!! Enjoy your time at home (I’m sure your wife’s glad you’re home) and get some rest!!!” Carrie (January, 2023, NE)

The BIMT trip was tremendous. The Bible came alive as never before. Pastor John has great knowledge of the Bible and excavation leading to a depth of understanding you will not get in most tours.  I talked with the people on the trip. We all agreed that the price was very reasonable. It is a testimony to him and Imagine that they do not ask more.  I especially liked the times where he asked us to spend time in devotion at certain sites-both in prayer and Bible reading.” James (January 2023, WI)

Before coming on the BIMT in January,’23, Israel and the Holy Land were intriguing, but not among my top “have to” bucket list items.  Being a pastor, this fact was always puzzling to me.  As the time approached, I got more excited, then, after only a few hours with you in those places, my mind was totally changed.  Your expertise, combined with your passion to “Connect the Biblical dots”, was incredibly inspiring.   To see the Bible stories played out like a drama in front of our eyes, brought it all to life.  Thank you so much for your heart.”  Kevin (January, 2023, OH)

The trip to Israel deepened my faith and understanding about who God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus are! It was powerful walking where the fathers of our faith have walked. God requires us to have Faith, but He’s also given us a tremendous amount of proof that He exists and that Jesus is the son of God. I saw this evidence in Israel!” Alex (January, 2023, MN)

We learned about Dr. John DeLancey from friends who traveled to Israel with him several years ago. They said the trip was fantastic and they highly recommended traveling with Dr. John to Israel.  We desired to take a tour that included remote sites that typical tour groups do not include. We also wanted a tour that included opportunities to hike to places referenced in the Bible rather than just seeing them from a distance. Our friends assured us that this trip was for us. They were right!

Dr. John’s vast biblical, archeological, and historical knowledge that he passionately shared with us was amazing. His knowledge that he shared at each of the sites (several remote!) certainly deepened our understanding of God’s Word. Also, seeing these sites has helped us to better visualize the stories we are currently studying in God’s Word since our return from the tour. In addition to Dr. John’s knowledge that he shared, we also learned from our very knowledgeable Israeli tour guide Shlomo.  They both provided us with an education that was more than we expected. This trip was certainly life changing and we are glad we got to share this experience with our wonderful Israel travel friends!  If someone is looking for a tour to Israel that offers so much more than an ordinary tour, this trip is for them!”  Nooch & Donna (November, 2022, PA)

I had been researching for over 5 years on different Israel tours.  I found many that just did the touristy sites. But one tour group kept coming back up over and over as the best in my opinion. Their trips focus on the biblical connections with sites, many of which are off the beaten path and not visited by touristy groups. In addition, the Director/leader/tour guide had led over 70 trips at the time (81 now) to Israel, and his mission is bringing the Bible to life in the context of the land. This is the tour group God led me to use.

Dr. John DeLancey of Biblical Israel Ministries & Tours is the name of the group I went with, and I was not disappointed! I can’t say enough about the entire trip from start to finish, the transportation, the meals & hotels, but mostly the sites, with biblical context. And when I say biblical context, Dr. John’s biblical knowledge on each site, as well as his archaeological knowledge and insight, are just insane. (in a good way!) I know I couldn’t possibly retain everything I heard but hopefully, going back to my notes and studying the bible, will help.” Eileen (November, 2022, FL)

We are so pleased we chose to tour with John DeLancey. Our 11 day tour through Israel (plus 2 days in Jordan) allowed us to see so many sites referenced in the bible. John is incredibly knowledgeable and personable and his tour truly brings the bible to life. We enjoyed that this tour was an active one, including a few optional hikes and there was a good cross section of ages from 21-74 yrs. We enjoyed the company of a great bunch of people. The standard of accommodation was excellent; very comfortable, clean and modern, with good meals included.” Grant & Sarah (November, 2022, Auckland, NZ)

It has been almost 6 weeks since I have returned from the Delancey Israel/Jordon tour, and I still can’t stop thinking about it! Now when I read my bible, I look for the location on the map, and if it’s somewhere we went on the tour, I can easily visualize it. Understanding the geography and topography has added depth to my understanding of God’s Word. In addition to that, Dr. John enhanced my knowledge of the culture and practices of the people of the land. To walk where Jesus and his disciples walked, view the same Sea of Galilee he did, see the valley where David killed Goliath, experience the lushness of En Gedi while envisioning David and his men enjoying the same waterfalls I was standing at, and looking out at the view of the promised land that Moses viewed-unforgettable. A Delancey tour is action-packed: we got going early every morning and were busy until evening every day, and I wouldn’t have changed it because we saw and experienced so much! I really appreciated all the attention to details that allowed us to enter most sites before they were crowded. Our Israeli guide even arranged for us to get into a site that was closed that day! Thank you Dr. John, Schlomo and our drivers for the great experience! May God bless the ministry of Dr. Delancey and BIMT.” Esther (November 2022, IN)

This was my second trip with Pastor John.  Because of COVID, it took two and a half years to finally make this journey. It was well worth the wait. Thank you, John, for sharing your knowledge of and passion for Israel.  You and Schlomo made my final trip to Israel a most memorable . We traveled with a  wonderful and caring group.” Debbie (November, 2022, WA)

“If you could only go to one other country in the world during your lifetime, then Israel has to be it. As the crossroads for almost every ancient civilization, you are walking through and on the physical history of the bible and our world. Dr. John DeLancey’s historical and biblical knowledge, combined with his archaeological expertise, brings this trip to life in a very real and personal way. This experience certainly clarifies and reinforces what we believe and why we believe it.  Our tour team of John, Shlomo and David are simply the best!” Dave & Laura (November 2022, PA)

Traveling through Israel with Dr. Delancey was encouraging, fascinating and insightful.   This trip met all of our hopes and dreams for an Israel tour and we returned home with a a strong appreciation for the land and people of Israel.   We visited well known popular sites and others that Dr. Delancey knew of that were a little more remote but provided additional insights into the bible’s context.  Shiloh was just one of several sites that touched our hearts. To be able to be at the spot where Samuel answered God’s call with “here I am” was a faith building experience. We highly recommend this tour and John Delancey to all who are looking for a faith building, knowledgeable and active tour.” Russell & Martha (November 2022, CO)

As a pastor and avid student of the Bible, I have long taught its stories seeking to bring out the lessons it wanted to teach both for the people of its day and for us now, but the actual world of the Bible, for me, remained flat like the Biblical maps I used.  This November’s trip with Biblical Israel Tours has changed all that forever. Dr. John DeLancey, with his archeologist’s background and pastor’s heart, brought those same stories alive in a way that will forever change how I experience them. To be able to stand where young David stood with sling in hand staring across the valley at Goliath, or to walk on Shiloh imagining the Tabernacle and listening for echoes of the boy Samuel saying to God, “here am I;”  to climb the southern steps of the Temple mount and rest my weary feet where Jesus probably did the same thing,  or stand on the cliff of Arbel to personally see and hear His Great Commission once again sending  me “into all the world to disciple the nations” … these were just a few of the experiences that  John warned us, we would never be able to adequately explain,  other than to say, “you should go see Israel for yourself.”  One final note, I quickly learned that there is nothing flat about Israel!  Everywhere Abraham, Moses, or Jesus and his disciples walked, was uphill – up mountain! – or down; if you’re not in good shape at the start of the trip, you will be by the finish. Shalom.”  Pastor John (November 2022, VA)

Nancy and I signed up for the trip to Israel with Biblical Israel Ministries and Tours in June of 2022 for a November 2022 departure on the recommendation of a very close friend. We received reading materials and jumped right into preparing ourselves for a trip of a lifetime. We were not disappointed. It was more than we ever dreamed.  We hit the ground running after clearing immigration and didn’t stop until we were back at the airport in Tel Aviv returning home. Dr Delancey was very detailed with each and every stop. We read the Bible, prayed and sang our way through Israel and parts of Jordan.  Dr John being a minister and a archeologists played a important role in  the success and joy of the trip. It truly was a memorable trip and Nancy and I would do it again.  And of course, we wouldn’t go with anyone but Dr John and his Israeli partner Shlomo. Merry Christmas to you and your family.” Rich & Nancy (November, 2022, IL)

I was able to join the Israel tour in Nov 2022 along with my son who is a 21-year-old college student. After researching tour options and planning for this trip for nearly a year my expectations were quite high. Nonetheless, my expectations were absolutely blown away! I’ve traveled to over 25 countries across 6 continents, but nothing compares to Israel and this tour. John and his team have all the details flawlessly planned. The itinerary was amazing, and the knowledge of John and Shlomo was incredible – we learned so much! The bible truly comes alive in this land. Each day we were able to connect to the bible in the context of the land, the archeology and the culture. I also found there was always a special connection that could be made personally from various bible passages and connecting locations which made each day even more meaningful and moving.

The opportunities for hikes, climbs, swims and walks made for exciting and invigorating days physically too. I found Israel to be fantastically beautiful, diverse and peaceful. I left Israel feeling so fulfilled physically, mentally and spiritually. It is truly a trip that should not be missed, and John and the BIMT team ensured that my son and I had an amazing trip and have incredible memories of a lifetime.Kelli (November 2022, MN)

I just wanted to say again how great an experience we had on the Greece-Turkey-Rome trip this past month.  In fact, I don’t know how we could ever find another trip that would possibly be better than that one.  You set the bar pretty high.  Every day was organized down to the minute, all our needs/concerns were addressed, and the pace was just right.  Aliki, Tasos, Gloria, Daniela  and you, of course, were so knowledgeable, patient and professional.  We were also so blessed to have been part of such a wonderful group of folks who were so interesting, funny and considerate.  It truly was a trip of a lifetime for Paul and me.  It also meant so much to me that I was able to reconnect with you  — a link to Perkasie and to my dad, whom I wish could have been able to experience such a trip.  Again, our 2 weeks with you was WONDERFUL! Thanks again for such great memories!!” Kristine (October 2022 Greece trip, MI)

I feel so blessed that the Lord led me to Biblical Israel Ministries and Tours while looking for a guide for my first trip to Israel. I have dreamed of visiting the land of the Bible for over twenty years and wanted to go with someone who is passionate about God’s Word, well trained in the areas of archeology and geography, and committed to the spiritual growth of those they lead. Dr. John Delancey checks all of the boxes. With his extensive knowledge of the Bible and the land, his obvious interest and experience in archeology, and his pastor’s heart, Dr. John led our group on a trip that was both incredibly informative and deeply life changing. The Lord used my time in Israel to deepen my love for and understanding of His Word, and to minister to my soul in ways I did not expect. If you are considering a trip to the land of the Bible, I highly recommend Dr. Delancey and Biblical Israel Ministries and Tours!Pastor Chris (June 2022, ME)

Biblical Realities Described in Geographical Place, Historical Archaeology, Story and Song: Along with thousands of other frustrated Americans, we were eager to finally resume air travel when Israel opened to tourists early this year. We booked in 2019. It was worth the wait. The Rev. Dr. John DeLancey’s wealth of information had been provided ahead of time in the form of the books he’s authored on Israel’s historic sites. The significant texts allowed us a glimpse of what we would soon encounter, but nothing can compare to being there on the Mount of Olives or waist deep in the Jordan River, or at the Temple Mount, and being taught by this learned man. He is approachable, fun and a reliable leader. He’s a straight shooter and will not allow you to worship the place—he reminds that we worship the King, not His supposed place of birth or death or where He rose, or ascended, none of which is absolutely certain in location. In fact, he as well as the authorities who run certain traditional sites informs that many of the sites are not necessarily exactly where certain events took place. Dr. John’s extensive knowledge and experience served us well in this regard. So we worshipped the King, but it was thrilling nonetheless to be there where He lived His perfect life.

Finally, if you are physically fit, DeLancey offers many opportunities to experience the place intimately, hands-on. However, excellent accommodations are made for those who do not care to hike, swim or climb mountains. Either way, God exists inside each of us, abiding quietly. I was utterly thrilled to walk the same dusty paths that He must have walked but did not necessarily feel more connected to Him there than in the mountains near my home in Hawaii. Above all, it was most thrilling to be amongst other seekers of God’s truth, who love Him above all. On our trip, we were blessed with traveling with many pastors and other leaders of the Christian faith, including the BIMT board chairman Tagg Murn, M.D. and his lovely wife Lisa. Friends for life.”  Sanae (June 2022, HI)

What a marvelous trip!  Your tour really made the Holy Lands come alive.  Your knowledge and expertise of the biblical history and geography were exquisite and provided the background to learning so much! Thank you! I am still processing the trip and sorting through my notes and pictures. I have already used many of the pictures as sermon illustrations, and used the information gleaned from the experience to enhance my teaching with eyewitness testimony. Thank you. So, to close, it was the best trip ever! I learned so much and it has already impacted my ability to teach and preach with better clarity! Thank you so much. Looking forward to the next time we can travel with you. Blessings!”  Rev. Dr. Ron (June 2022, CA)

The May 2022 biblical Israel tour was everything! It’s going to take some time for this spiritual experience to sink in. I try not to have expectations but if I did, the tour way exceeded them! There was not a single second of any moment I would have changed. Dr. John DeLancey is an amazing human being who commits his time, sharing his love and passion for Jesus Christ and the land of Israel. I trusted God in the timing, reason and season of this trip and it’s truly a constant reminder to always trust God. I adored each and every person on our tour. I am grateful God provided a new family in Christ to accompany me along this ‘continuous pursuit of purpose’ trip to Israel. From caves, tunnels, hikes, off-beat paths, scripture, songs and prayer, Dr. John knew how to guide us to the sites and spiritual breakthroughs of a lifetime! I have a renewed spirit for bible reading and for the rededication of my life to Jesus Christ. “Ohhh, the sun’s coming up..! Thank you.” Dana (May 2022, NJ).

John, Just wanted to say thanks again for our great trip to Israel! We will cherish the memories for years to come. It was a great time of teaching and fellowship! We related our experience to our Sunday school class. I will never read the Bible the same after learning about the importance of context and being there in the land of the Bible. Thanks for all you do in leading Biblical tours to bring the Bible to life. We also appreciate your love for the Jewish people. Blessings to you and your family! “Shalom!  Bert (May 2022, OK)

“My travel to Israel with Dr. John DeLancey truly has a been one of those life changing experiences which will stay with me forever.  As a minister of our Lord Jesus who teaches in an accredited bible college, this experience will greatly improve my ability to bring more interesting tangible facts to the table as I teach.  Having now seen, smelled, and experienced many of these Biblical sights has impacted me tremendously. When I prepare a sermon or a teaching series topic for my local congregation, I will be able to add a new layer of understanding and depth from my own personal experiences.

People have asked me how my trip was to Israel. In short, I try to explain to them that this wasn’t an ordinary trip or vacation, its much more involved than that. This is a spiritual experience, and a time of enlightenment. We all have the Bible stories at our fingertips, all of these wonderful stories in us, but after this pilgrimage to the Holy Land with John many of these Bible stories have changed from being a mere story to an actual experience. We can learn about the Sea of Galilee, but once one experiences being there at the Sea of Galilee one is transformed into a depth of emotion and understanding that is actually difficult to put into words. The scriptures become more vivid and alive as we place the scriptures in context with the geospatial relationships of the landscape. This coupled with extremely interesting archeological facts makes for a much more complete experience. Don’t get me wrong we all need a measure of faith, but it seems now after my return from Israel it doesn’t take as much faith to be and feel connected to the word of God and to the Lord himself.  It all has become more real, more alive, and more factual.  I praise the Lord for the opportunity for this pilgrimage to Israel and I am excited to return to the Holy Land in the near future.  I just have to get more of this again soon! Yes indeed wen I do return to Israel it will be once again with John, for he has gone from tour guide to friend and colleague in ministry.” Pastor Glen (Feb, 2022, SC)

Why was this the great ever? Because we were with you, John. You are truly the absolute best and we have told so many people already. We MISS you!!!! Thank you for the great pictures and 360 videos…. Wow, what a wonderful bonus!! You taught us so much and took us to wonderful places that we didn’t even get near in 2018 Israel. We know you are glad when the Egypt part is done but John, you did Egypt so memorably for us. 1 to 10 John, you are a 10+……We will do everything possible to bring ministry your way. We already told the cashier at the grocery store today who is researching a trip to Israel. She was super excited. Thanks for the books……we are reading them now. Yeshua smiles on you John!!! No doubt in our minds!! Thanks for picking us for the Songs of Solomon…. Vows!!  It meant so much to us!! Blessings on you John.” David and Linda (Feb, 2022, WA)

Traveling to the Holy Land was a trip that truly changed my perspective. The trip brought the Bible to life for me and I better understand God’s story. As I read the Bible now in the comfort of my own home, I am able to picture the places I am reading about. It’s incredible to read stories of Jesus’ ministry and connect the dots with the places we traveled to. Dr. John DeLancey was a wonderful tour guide. He has a great knowledge of the land of Israel, archeology, and the Bible. At every site, he read a passage of scripture, explained the importance of the site, and then left our group with an applicable challenge. If you are thinking about traveling to Israel, travel with BIMT.”  Teirrah (Jan 2022, MN)

This was my first-time visiting Israel, and hopefully not my last! I enjoyed this trip very much. Having Shlomo as our guide and John as our teacher/guide was a plus. They are both very knowledgeable about the land, the culture, and the history of God’s holy land. They really helped bring the Bible to life for me. I can read my Bible now and understand better what life and locations were like before and during Jesus’ time, as well as present day Israel. The people of Israel are amazing… very hospitable! I also met some great people on the tour and enjoyed getting to know them. Having the students from Solid Rock was also fun. It was nice to see how much they(we) learned and to hear their thoughts and perspectives.I also enjoyed being in a smaller group, and the fact that we were probably the first tour group… parks, archeological sites and restaurants weren’t too crowded. The only negative was the weather, but it was cool to see 3-4 inches of snow in Jerusalem as well as the fascination of young and old alike. COVID testing and restrictions aside, I would consider booking another trip with BIMT in the future. Thanks, and blessings to John DeLancey, Shlomo our Israeli guide, David our fantastic bus driver—and Imagine Travel!Shalom!”  Stephanie (Jan 2022, IN)

This was my 3rd trip with Dr. John to Israel. I would highly recommend as he provides in depth explanations on each site or ruin and ties it to the applicable books in the Bible. Additionally, Shlomo our Israeli guide is a book of historical knowledge resulting in a well-rounded perspective. We also felt well protected while there (if this is a concern, it shouldn’t be) and the Israeli people welcomed us with open arms. Thank you for another wonderful trip!” Dianna (Jan 2022, WA)

Thanks so much for a wonderful tour and blessed experience!  It has always been my desire to see Israel and I’m so glad I was able to go on this one!!  You and Shlomo are so knowledgeable about the area plus you guys made it a fun, but also worshipful experience. David was a great driver too. The whole trip was so organized and well done! Thanks again for everything!  Blessings and safe travels to you in the days to come! Lori (Jan. 2020, IN)

“What was deposited in me through the trip in Israel in November 2019 was a rich, deep spiritual experience. I am thankful that I chose to walk the land of Jesus  with BIMT. Dr. John Delancey, our able and tireless tour leader, propelled us with his passion and energy to a new level of physical endurance. We experienced aching limbs and stretched muscles most days.  But we loved it all !  We will not give up the arduous treks- up and down trails, across arid grounds, kicking up dust and tripping over rocks, to be literally where it all happened in the Bible –  to witness the field where David slew Goliath, to stand among the fallen ramparts in Masada when besieged Jews encamped to fight the Romans, to  humbly walk the steps which Jesus ascended to face Pilate, to be on the site of Lachish when Jeremiah warned King Zedekiah of Babylon’s attack. We experienced all these and many more as John taught and shared from his heart. How real can it get ?

In the mornings we could make our way to the shore of the Sea of Galilee to witness spectacular sunrises –made possible from a hotel, well located for this wonderful experience.  In our quiet time, beside the water, we heard Him call His disciples, Andrew and John. Could He too have a call for us ?  In a Galilean boat on the vast sea (13 miles long ) as we sailed with the sun behind us, we  sang out loud and clear to have the eyes of our heart opened to see Him .  And surely, we saw and felt His presence with us. How blessed we were!

Throughout our time in our journeying, we appreciated John’s vast knowledge  of archaeological sites- updated and authenticated with him being on some digs. It was always backed with biblical insight which came through with passion and depth, enlivened sometimes with his dry humour.  He made a good teacher! Scriptures  were fleshed out and made “real”. Our reading of scriptures will have a new dimension of authenticity and insight – never the same again.  Truly awesome and a life transformed! I am thankful that I walked the land of Jesus with Biblical Israel Ministries Tours this November.  I can’t wait to journey again with BIMT!”  Hung (Nov, 2019, Australia)

“My husband and I were looking for a particular type of tour: (1) We wanted to go where Jesus went and see it – as much as possible- as he would have.  That meant we wished not to spent much time in shrines and church buildings. Archeology digs would be nice. (2) We wanted faith lessons at each location. (3) We hoped for opportunities to hike and do some active things, not just sit on a bus. We found exactly what we were looking for with a BMIT tour led by John DeLancey and Phil McKinney. The tour had opportunities to choose between less exerting and more challenging options.  Though we are both about 60, we opted to hike up a mountain in Galilee, descend a path from Masada, go atop tels to see ancient fortresses, ride jeeps in the desert, and snorkel the Red Sea! Tour leaders acted out prophets preaching… and recruited group members to act out a miracle of Jesus!  The Israeli guides helped us see things from a Jewish perspective on modern Israel. It was a whirlwind time but exciting and life-changing!” Nancy (Nov, 2019, MA)

Trust the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) This simple, well known scripture pretty much summarizes my first-ever overseas trip as a Deaf traveler, and with a group of people, whom I never met before, except for a few from a local church. Not enough words can describe, how I had a wonderful time and want to go back!! The level of leadership by the “yellow hat” tour guides enabled me to follow with confidence-particularly with the high quality ASL Interpreters going out of their way to ensure an enriching experience. Thank you Pastor John and Phil for making an interpreted tour a reality!!  I had high expectations and the schedule was packed, but all the places were covered as advertised-and more!! Great new friendships were made, and the food and hotels were first-class. And the bus drivers are the best in the world!! Thank you, Pastor John for pouring out your heart and calling, as an instrument of knowledge – leading us all to a better understanding, and love for the Biblical lands and the people of Israel!Dennis (Nov, 2019, TX)

“Hello John, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed our trip. Just last night I said I can barely believe I was in Israel a few days ago. It was like a trip to heaven. Walking where Jesus walked, learning about the ancients, seeing the country, learning of the persecutions, the baptism in the Jordan, floating in the Dead Sea waters the amazing archeology, the communion at the Tomb, the Temple mount and old city, the Bedoin camp experience, Petra and riding a camel, Tabernacle, Mt. Arbor, the Sea of Galillee, Natanya, Mesada, the miles of walking, the fellowship, the spiritual lessons, the food, etc. It was way beyond my expectations. And the sunny warm weather, how I miss it. Like Mosse said, the first time, God invites you. I am ready to go back anytime… Thankyou so much. Keep on doing what you do as long as you can.”  Lona Oates (Nov, 2019, WI)

“This was an emotional trip for us. Our beloved second son died in September of a drugs overdose. We had planned the tour months earlier but never considered not going. It will be good for us, we thought, and it was. Thank you to John for his godly leading and to Pastors Mike and Phil for their loving devotionals. We were especially moved by our intense time of fellowship with so many beautiful Christians. We felt God’s touch on our hearts many times and have come back to Melbourne restored and refreshed. It was a wonderful experience.”  Martin and Younju (Nov, 2019, Australia)

“Dr. John, l just wanted to let you know what a blessing it was for Beth and me to be a part of BlMT trip to Israel in Sept. We learned so much about Israel (past, present, spiritually, and politically). The Lord used you, Shlomo, and David to show us His gracious hospitality. Thank you all so much for letting us share in your calling. There were so many places and things that we experienced that it is hard to comprehend all of it. l know the Lord will bring to mind these experiences as the days go by. To me, the teachings, personal testimonies (you, Schlomo, Nissan family, and Moshe), music, prayer times, and over all fun time were what made this trip for us one of the best experiences we have ever had. All of the sites were great to see, and to be in places where the Bible was actually lived out was very special. BlMT made it come alive for us! Thanks again for a trip of a lifetime, and best 50th wedding anniversary gift ever.” Joe and Beth Matulich (Sept, 2019, TX)

“What an amazing tour !! Cannot praise Dr John and Shlomo, our Israeli guide, enough, from their incredible knowledge, to their wonderful fellowship, organization and ability to connect with us. They both have a deep love for Israel. John read the scriptures  at every site, bringing the Bible alive. I loved the special moments in the Judean Desert and at the Pool of Siloam (can’t say what, as it would spoil it for future tourists, but both events were very special). I did find the tour quite exhausting, but oh so worth it to see and experience so much of the land. Mustn’t forget David, our driver. How he navigated the steep and narrow roads and the very busy Jerusalem was amazing !!”  Diane (Sept, 2019, NC)

“We had been looking forward to a trip to Israel for many years. We selected John and BIMT because it offered us both the historical view of the land of Israel from biblical times and the spiritual experience we were looking for as evangelical Christians. Our tour experience far exceeded our high expectations! John’s knowledge and passion for the land of Israel and Christ shined through. Receiving the Jewish perspective on the places we visited from our teaching guide, Shlomo,  was an added bonus! The tour truly put a 3-D view on historical events from both the Old and New Testaments. We can now say “it happened here and I’ve been there”. This puts a whole new perspective on how we will read and study the Bible in the future. We wish everyone could experience this. Thank you John!” Jim & Denise (Sept, 2019, OK)

John & Shlomo, Shalom! We do not know how to even start thanking y’all enough for the life changing experience we had in Israel ?? because of you! This was the most enjoyable and meaningful vacation/trip that my wife and I have taken in the 43 years we have been married! The historical, biblical, and political information and experiences were overwhelming. Being Christians we always felt a connection to Israel ??, but this trip has brought that feeling to a reality. Just wanted to let you know that you had a vital role in our Spiritual transformation. Toda Raba! A hui hou! Aloha!” James & Janet (Sept, 2019, HI)

“For most of my life I have felt “called” to visit Israel but had always put it off.  As a dedicated Christian I had a longing to understand the Holy Land but it never felt like the right time.  I wasn’t sure I was “ready” somehow.  My wife Leigh shared this longing to walk where Jesus and the prophets walked.  When some significant medical events occurred we decided that “now” was the time.  We searched the internet and were intrigued with John DeLancey’s approach of a trip in which we could integrate adventure,  information, inspiration, and application. We chatted with him and were impressed so we jumped in.

We are so glad we did.  We were greatly rewarded in each area.  We adventured up Mt Sinai in the middle of the night to watch the sunrise and sat near where Moses and Elijah may have been when the Lord met each of them there.  Many adventures followed in climbs, in tunnels, in streets, on mountain tops and in caves.  We were educated at each point along the way – the trip was designed to help us imagine the Bible narrative in it’s sequence, ending in Galilee and Jerusalem to see Jesus in his historical and geographical context.  John is a great teacher of Bible history and was capable of turning facts into inspiring application-oriented “Life Lessons”.

Another key point which differentiates this trip from others was the presence of a Jewish guide who is incredibly talented in conveying Jewish history from Abraham through the holocaust up to the present day.  Schlomo was an added and unexpected heart-moving highlight.  The group bonded under John’s leadership and had great fun getting to know each other.  I highly recommend this trip and suggest you not put it off as long as we did!  Dr. JD (May 2019, WA)

“Hi Dr. John! I’m singing “oh, the suns coming up” and missing our fantastic group! I have been to THE mountain!  I have been to the lowlands of Judah, and the wilderness of Zin!  I have been to the Red Sea, the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee!  I have been totally amazed and moved beyond tears! If you are looking for a life-changing experience with a learned Biblical scholar and knowledgeable archaeological guide who is both professional and exceptionally interesting-you will be privileged to contact Dr. John!  We saw groups where a guide would just leave his/her group to wander a site on their own.

Dr. John and our Israeli guide, Schlomo, never left us to guess at what our eyes were seeing.  We were prepared in advance, led carefully in each site and then reminded by re-telling the significance of the area and pointing out the sites on a map.  I promise that it is so much to see and cover in a short amount of time that a pilgrim needs this kind of guidance!  Dr. John made sure that we were safe and as comfortable as possible with our huge itinerary.  Usually there were options for those who wanted an easier path and options for the most advanced who wanted challenges. My words of advice:  pack light, then pack lighter!!  The food was exceptionally delicious!  We drank Israeli water and it was perfect!  A good sun hat is a must!  Covering the knees and shoulders for ladies and long pants for guys and a hat is necessary in a few places.

We were on a pilgrimage never-to- be forgotten with the most knowledgeable Biblical and archaeological schlolar and guide who knew the land like the palm of his hand.  What an incredible blessing you are Dr. John!  Thank you seems inadequate! If you are looking for a leader, a guide, and the best way to travel through Israel, contact Dr. John!” “CB” Carolyn (May 2019, AL)

“From the heights of Mount Hermon to the Dead Sea, from Dan to Eliat, this tour covers the heights, depths, length and breadth of the most interesting land of Israel.  We saw the present, the past and the distant past uncovered and explained.  Shiloh and Dan are intimately explored and explained, in light of the Bible and other references. Dr. DeLancey, Shlomo and David are the ultimate team, providing a wonderful experience.  I feel that I have completely experienced Israel.  Dr. DeLancey’s fantastic depth of Biblical knowledge, his archeological knowledge and personal experience provides and unparalleled experience.  Shlomo’s knowledge, his “Jewishness,” his passion and his ability to dramatically develop and exciting story, makes me feel like I was there when the history happened.  David expertly piloted the tour bus safely for many miles, with a warm smile, a helpful hand and a gentle disposition.

Passing through Hezekiah’s tunnel under Jerusalem with the Gihon passing through my feet was such a wonderful experience.  Showing us illustrations of how Jerusalem looked in David’s time and explaining the changes in later times was very interesting to me.  Sitting on the steps approaching the Temple Mount, that Jesus would have used, praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, standing on the Mount of Olives, overlooking the valley of Elah where David slew Goliath, standing in Jericho, exploring Masada, wandering through Ber-Sheva, knowing that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had been there, the Bible is illustrated and explained to a depth that is possible by being there, smelling the aromas, feeling the heat and the wind, seeing where it happened! For a wonderful, life-changing, fully immersive experience of Biblical Israel and culture, this is the example that all tours strive to become!” (Walt, May 2019, OH)

“Touring Israel has been on my heart for many years. After considering several tours, I choose Bible Israel Ministries & Tours with Dr. John DeLancey.. The experience far exceeded my expectations. Dr John DeLancey along with Shlomo Ben-Asher provided incredible insights and knowledge of all sights beginning from the old testament through the new testament. Our days were packed and additional sites were added as time allowed. I cannot tell you my favorite experience because so many memories flood in as the Bible becomes a living, breathing word of God. My family and friends loved being able to follow the tour as the website was updated daily with pictures and an overview of the sites we visited. Thank you for the life changing experience.”  JoAnn (May 2019, ID)

“Hi John! I just wanted to thank you once again for the incredible experience in Israel and Jordan. Mary Beth and I have been talking non-stop about it. It was truly life-changing. God has given you a gift and you are using that gift to glorify Him and bring people closer to Him. Thank you!”  Pastor Bob (March 2019, ID)

Thank you for an awesome tour that not only met but exceeded every expectation! We loved every minute of it from the beginning of the day with a song and bible verse to the end of the day with dinner and extra curriculum walk. What we appreciated the most was the knowledge and wisdom of our tour guides (you and Shlomo) and the fact that you very much brought the Bible to life for us. A lot of areas touched us emotionally and spiritually but the baptism in the Jordan River and the Wailing Wall were our favorites. Thank you again and we are planning to join you again in the future!” Angelika (March, 2019, FL)

Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” (John 1:46 ESV) Going to Israel and seeing the context of the land in which the events Scripture took place will forever change your life!  Whether it is looking out over the Elah Valley or sitting in the hills of the Galilee, gaining the experience of being there will greatly expand your understanding of those same places when you encounter them in Scripture. Dr. DeLancey provides not just a trip that is informational but deeply transformational. His knowledge of the land and the Biblical context of the places you will visit is unparalleled.” Matt (March 2019, CA)

“We toured Israel with John Delancey in March of 2019. This was our first tour of any kind and we did not know what to expect. John’s tours were recommended by a member of our church that had gone with him on a similar tour several years ago. Our experience far exceeded our expectations. John possesses a wealth of information that he enthusiastically shares with his group. His background of living and studying in Israel uniquely qualifies him to lead such tours and his ability to relate the many sites we visited to the Old and New Testaments made the tour a rich educational experience. John is assisted in his leadership by Jewish guides, as required by the Israeli government. The guides with whom John works are also extremely knowledgeable and provide the tour group with the Jewish perspective on the archeological sites we visited and were willing and able to answer our questions regarding Judaism. The guides were also very experienced, with decades of experience in guiding tours; they were very personable and we all grew very fond of them.

We cannot adequately express our appreciation to Pastor John and his team for the historical, archeological and spiritual insights we have gained through this experience. Furthermore, we were pleased with the accommodations that were arranged for us. There was plenty of opportunity to participate in walks and other activities along the tour, so the days were as full as one desires. I would highly recommend anyone wishing to visit Israel participate in one of Pastor John’s tours. Both of us hope that we will be able to take part in another at some time in the future.”  Ed & Rosemary (March 2019, ID)

I wish there were words to fully describe how awesome this tour was.  I knew the itinerary and had read notes of previous trips, but was still unprepared for how my time in Israel and Jordan would impact me spiritually and give me insights and knowledge of the Bible that I could never have gained any other way.  This was a very active tour – lots of walking to sites not visited by other tours. My husband and I are describing it as ‘shock and awe’ because of the many WOW moments, the breadth of historical sites we experienced, the cultural insights, and the amount of information we have yet to process.

We visited sites connected with all periods of Israel’s history, from Abraham to the Byzantine period, and learned about each one in detail.  We visited some marvelous museums and were humbled by the story of the people of this land. In Jordan, we had yet new things to learn about the wanderings of the people, about the Nabateans, and about Jordan today.   We made new, close connections with the people on the trip as we worshiped together at many of the sites.  My friends ask, ‘How was the trip?’.  I answer, ”Whatever you have to do to  go, GET THERE and GO WITH BIMT”.  I’m so grateful and humbled that we found BIMT and Dr. John and took this trip of a lifetime with him.” Holly (March, 2019, OH)

I expected a great trip with a tour of a lot of churches.  I didn’t expect to see the many sites of all kinds and get In-depth, archeological explanations of them, and to learn how they fit into Israel’s history.  Seeing and understanding the geography of the country helped me put the Bible in context way beyond my previous understanding. Meeting the people on the tour and the citizens of Israel and Jordan was just wonderful.  Our tour guides (Schlomo and Ori in Israel and Sam in Jordan) blew us away with their stories, knowledge of the land, and humor.  The tour was amazing in every way and far beyond my expectations. Guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.Randy  (March, 2019, OH)

It was our first biblical study tour to Israel.  Pastor John lead us through an amazing  pilgrimage as if we’re Jesus time disciples.  Pastor John personalizing our tour by offering unique optional guided learning opportunities. Shlomo, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, talented and personable with great sense of humour.  We’re deeply moved when Shlomo bore his heart about personal holocaust  losses before touring the Yad Vashen.   Both Pastor John and Shlomo helped us connect & walk through the journey of Jesus and His disciples, the culture and history of Jewish people.  We’d love to join Pastor John’s tours again.” Rod & Michi (March 2019, CA)

My wife and I were amazed by this trip. I wouldn’t refer to it as a vacation, but more of a college level archaeological field trip. The intensity level was that high. Each day started early and never let up until evening. More importantly, all the teaching was Bible centered and Christ focused. We must have seen over 40 sites all tied to one, usually more, passage in the Bible. It will take me months to process all the information. The Tour Guides and Drivers were wonderful people. You and the Group Leaders did a great job. We met a lot of loving and caring members of the body of Christ. It was an experience we’ll never forget. The tour definitely helped equip us in our walk with Christ and the pastors that attended no doubt are better equipped to lsad their local churches. Tying the scriptures we read each day to a physical location we have actually visited helps bring it to life. Thanks John.” Michael & Chong (March 2019, OH)

My last trip to Israel and Jordan with John DeLancey was again a blessing and very educational.  I say “again” because this is my second trip with him to the Holy Land and both tours have exposed me to a new understanding of many of the Bible stories and passages, both about Jesus and the Old Testament prophets and patriarchs. John is both well educated in sharing knowledge about the various Archeological sites and he lives vigorously every day we are on tour.   We did a lot of walking to visit several sites and tells every day.  Be sure to bring good walking shoes and enjoy the fellowship.  You will also develop a better understanding of the “Jewish mind set” especially as it relates to both ancient and modern history.”  John & Lao (March 2019, WA)

“Thank you for everything, John! I hope you’re home and resting now. You are a fabulous tour leader, and your non-anxious presence and leadership style has been a tremendous gift to us all. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for a truly fabulous tour experience.  Now please get a little rest before you jump back into your grueling schedule of excellent adventures.” Pastor Pete & Bonnie (February, 2019)

I wanted to thank you again for for and incredible learning and uplifting experience in Israel. So often there are such high expectations for an experience like this and rarely if ever does the experience come close to those expectations. Not so in this case. This trip far exceeded our already high expectations. Your knowledge of the Bible, archeology and history of the land was a perfect combination to bring the scriptures more to life than ever before. Having Shlomo as our Jewish guide was incredible. His passion and love for Israel was an added bonus as was our awesome bus driver David. I’m still amazed how he maneuvered that bus in tight spots and traffic. The Lord also put together a great mix of people on the trip. Incredible stories and life experiences from them all. And what a blessing to see the young folks from Solid Rock have such a passion to serve the Lord. I would go into the beauty of the journey but as you know it really can’t be explained, it has to be experienced in person. Thanks again and may God continue to bless your ministry.” Mike & Kim (January 2019, ID)

Our trip with BIMT was life changing! We discussed how we could not have imagined having better guides. John and Shlomo truly are gifted individuals, as is David our driver. John was beyond excellent with the Biblical site explanations. Not only did he teach us valuable information about the sites/involved characters, but more importantly, his well thought out “Life Lessons” from each site added so much to the trip itself. These “Life Lessons” are the things that keep on giving now that we are back home. We were reminded that we are not there to worship the “place” but the PERSON of Jesus, a necessary reminder to us as eager tourists. Our AWE of God grew exponentially with this trip and with the geography of the Bible truly “coming to life.”  Shlomo was a great resource for the Jewish/Hebrew background of Jesus as well as understanding the past history and current state of Israel. Both John and Shlomo have timely humor which helps make a 2 week trip even more enjoyable!

Accommodations were great! Food was great! Nothing but positive remarks can be made about John and his ministry. Our faith in Jesus, love for the Father, and appreciation of the Holy Spirit were deepened in ways hard to explain. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone desiring to deepen their faith through a trip to Israel.” Nathan & Hannah (January 2019, MN)

“I knew that if I were ever able to go to Israel, it would likely be a once-in-a-lifetime trip for me. So, for that reason, it was important to choose a tour that concentrated on Biblical sites. I was not interested in seeing “shrines” or churches built over selected “meaningful” spots. I wanted to see what Jesus saw! After talking to others, my traveling companion and I chose to tour Israel with Dr John Delancey. We then chose to go in March, and completely enjoyed being there in the Spring, with Israel greening up, and pleasant weather almost every day. We also chose a tour with only one bus-ful of people, and, again, we were so glad we did!

Dr. DeLancey has assembled a wonderful team, from the Travel Agency to the Tour Guides to the Driver. Everything is thought of– tickets are arranged in advance; hotels were booked, and so many details that I would not have been able to even think of on my own were taken care of. I never once felt unsafe, and we learned so much from our INCREDIBLE guide while traveling on the bus between stops. Of course, with Dr. John’s great interest in archeology, we saw MANY amazing digs in places that brought the Bible and the History of Israel to life. I highly recommend a two-week trip. Just know in advance that you will be kept very busy, …but isn’t that why you would go… to see as much as possible?

When asked if I would like to go back, I thought, “I really feel like I got to see everything that I would like to have seen, and for that I’m thankful!” Israel has become a real place to me and the Bible has taken on new dimensions that have given me new questions, but also new assurances. Reading the current news about Israel is so vivid now, and I have a greater understanding of where the events are taking place. My life is richer for this experience, and I am grateful to Dr. Delancey for his lifetime of work. He was great about presenting his thoughts along with others’,  leaving room for a person to come to their own conclusions.

Highlights for me were standing on Mt. Nemo, seeing Golgotha, the Beatitudes Mountain, looking into Syria from the Golan Heights, and getting a feel for the area around the Sea of Galilee. Also, spontaneously singing together in harmony with our voices echoing off the walls of Hezekiahs Tunnel, and looking out over Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives and over the Valley of Armegeddon… It all left so much to ponder.  Rebecca (Nov 2019, Iowa)

“Our 13-day tour of Israel, led by Dr. John DeLancey, exceeded our expectations in every way. What we experienced could be called, “Biblical, Historical, Archaeological, Geographical and Cultural Israel 101, 102 and 103.”  John immersed us into dozens of Israel’s sites, painting flesh on the bones of each location with it’s relevant context in both Old and New Testament Scripture.  This is not an armchair tour to observe history at a distance from a bus.  We walked up dozens of ancient tels to experience the locations and see the layers of excavations where people lived over several civilizations. We walked down magnificent cisterns, through ancient tunnels, and up the side of rocky mountains where prophets, patriarchs and our Lord Himself walked.  We spent a night in a Bedouin camp and rode camels on a short journey.  We experienced the Dead Sea, Jordan River and Sea of Galilee from a distance for perspective, and also up close and wet.   Putting Israel’s varied geography into focus by comparing mountains to neighboring locations opens up significant understanding of biblical narratives which I’d only thought of before as 2-dimentional.  John often squeezed half a dozen stops into a day, choreographing several well-planned treks across Israel.  We climbed the arid, bleak, mountainous Negev in the south to the more lush foliage of the north. Optional walking excursions were available for the more adventurous, while alternative bus and gondola rides to the summits were available for older or less athletic tourists.  We criss-crossed the streets of Jerusalem for a few days standing upon significant locations significant to Christians.  We also experienced the religiously diverse quarters of the city, surviving and thriving together in the navel of the world.  At each site along the way, John’s Scriptural devotions made this truly a spiritual experience, sending us back thousands of years to bring the past to life. We saw a few significant museums, demonstrations and short films to tie together visually parts of the past to compare with the present.

One of the best parts of John’s tour was what we didn’t see.  All the details, arrangements, fees, and local negotiations were taken care of for countless stops, in order to provide a seamless experience for us. Plenty of restroom breaks each day, great hotels, buffets, and adequate lunch stops provided our necessary creature comforts.  John’s local Israeli guide added many details of Israel’s history, flavor and culture.  A skilled driver rounded out a well-oiled team that works well after many tours together.  All in all, our entire trip to Israel rated a “fifteen” on a scale of one to ten!”  Paul (Nov, 2019, TX)

“I can’t say enough about my Pilgrimage to the Holy Land.  First of all this is the most sacred place in the world.  There is so much to do, see, and take in that it takes your breath away.  To stand on Mt. Nebo and look into the Promised Land as Moses did and to eat fresh fruit and vegetables from the land of milk and honey was awesome!  The atmosphere and its layers and layers of history/ruins are amazing and evokes so many emotions that one cannot explain.  The bible really does come alive here and I will always have a picture of where the stories took place and a better understanding.   From city to desert, from one religion to another, from one culture to the next, it’s a land of extreme’s all packed into a small space.” Tim & Janet (June 2018, PA)

We have traveled to Israel twice with Pastor John. It has been such a marvelous experience, we wouldn’t return with anyone else! You will never read the Bible the same again after traveling with Biblical Israel Tours.  As one of our church members said, “John is the whole package!”  Dr. DeLancey uses his many years of experience as a pastor to really help the Word of God come alive.  His insights are deep and meaningful and true to the Bible.  He will take you off the beaten path to sites the regular tourist will miss.  He has traveled countless times to the Holy Land, studied in Jerusalem, participated in several archeological digs, and he has the skill to both lead in worship and to bring in a little drama presentation when you least expect it.   John always provides different levels of participation  based on your abilities, but offers such hands on experiential activities such as climbing up the side of a Mt. Arbel which overlooks the Sea of Galilee, floating on the Dead Sea, and snorkeling in the Red Sea.  Our Israeli guide on the bus told us that most tours take 3 days to do what John’s tours do in one day.  Do you get worn out traveling with Pastor John?  YEP!  Do you get your money’s worth traveling with Pastor John?  OH YES…and MORE!  We are thankful for such a wonderful opportunity to travel with Pastor John and we strongly encourage anyone and everyone to sign up and GO!  We are planning on going back again for trip number 3 in a few years.” Pastor Mike & Angi (June, 2018, WI)

I expected this trip to be an “experience of a lifetime”.  And it was, it was so rich!!  To see the many places that are mentioned in scripture made it easy to imagine the story happening before my eyes. Each morning,  since my return, I have reviewed one place that we visited. I will read the scriptures from the “Devotional Treasurers”,  look over the photos taken from that place, and ponder the “thot” given at the end of the chapter. Indeed, scripture has come more to life. At our ladies Bible study each week I am sharing this experience one place at a time.” Doreen (June, 2018, VA)

Pastor John, The song ‘He’s the God the Hills and Valleys’ truly has new meaning after walking the hills and valleys Jesus walked.  The presentation of the Scripture, the meditations and worship at the various sites was very meaningful.  We are still re-living our trip as we search out and study the stories in the Bible and use our topographical map (a must buy!!).  We are so thankful we were able to experience this trip and would encourage everyone to take this tour.  Still overwhelmed and amazed in Indiana.”  John & Jan (June, 2018, IN)

We (plus our sons Michael & James) enjoyed the June 2018 tour in Israel & Jordan. We learned so much and the bible is even more alive & relevant today. Thank you.  We have trip memories that will be cherished  & enjoyed for a life time.  Thank you for impacting our lives & for being the desert “prophet” on our way to Jerusalem.  John you are blessed and anointed to lead such a fabulous ministry.  Thank you & may God’s hand of blessing remain upon you!!!”  Ward & Diane (June, 2018, WI)

We went on the June trip to Israel and Jordan and what an amazing trip/adventure it was. Most days we were on the bus by 7:30 a.m. headed for our first of many stops to explore the land of the Bible. It is hard to describe the beauty of Israel and Jordan and the dance of the faith community that live there. Each day we walked, hiked and explored the sacred places of the Bible bringing it to life. John and our guides were so knowledgeable about each site we went to and the layers of history that was represented there. Now when I read my Bible I take out my map and locate the places that are mentioned and I can remember standing at that spot listening to John read the scripture about that very place! The Bible has truly come to life for us.” Logee & Debbie (June, 2018 CA)

The trip was far more than I ever anticipated!  I went with my sister and it was a packed agenda with all the necessary before hand information to be prepared…, but I found I did far more after the trip, digging and exploring all I had seen and done!  On our arrival we began with the history of Israel as a nation, the on-going conflict that still plagues them as a nation and people, and the outward demonstration of young people whose understanding gives testimony to their national pride, (which caused me to wonder what happened to ours?)  The carefully planned sights from south to north made the Bible come alive, I could almost see the Philistine’s taunting Israel.  John expertise in explanation of the many archeological sites strongly supported faith in Biblical integrity.  John has built relationships with shop owners over the years, and one shop owner in particular, had a very powerful testimony of his love for God as a Jew.  He was not looking to convert or persuade anyone, just a tribute of his personal love of the true God.  Certainly an encouragement to me as Christians!   I am planning on returning with John on another trip, but in the meantime, John has been more than accommodating in answering my ‘after-the-trip’ questions, and continues to provide intriguing on-going information.  I would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to visit Israel!Lindsay (May, 2018, OR)

As a small group leader I was looking for an experience in Israel that would connect me with the Bible, the country and the people of Israel.  I wanted an experience that I could pass on to our basic bible students in small group.  Many of our friends had gone on week long trips and all said it just wasn’t enough time.  I found the “14 Day Extensive Biblical Israel Study Tour” and it lived up to it’s title.  My wife and I had the experience of a lifetime visiting biblical sites, and enjoying the teaching of Dr. DeLancey and our local Jewish Guide. The experience was well beyond what we imagined.  Now when we read the bible, it comes alive!  Understanding the lay of the land give us so much more insight.  This first hand experience has enriched our faith walk and become a life changing experience.” Gary (May, 2018, WA)

Traveling to Israel was more than I had dreamed of experiencing. Not only was the scenery beautiful, but the way that John DeLancy made the Bible come alive through our excursions was truly God’s blessing! Not only has it opened my eyes to the geographical and archeological ramifications of places in the Bible, but it has also brought many of the biblical characters to life as I have studied the scripture in a new and exciting way! I will truly never be the same as a student of God’s Word! Thank you again for a most treasured experience.” Fred & Kathleen (May, 2018, IA)

“Visiting Israel was a lifelong dream I thought would never be fulfilled. How would that ever be possible? How could I ever afford it? The Lord provided for this trip in ways that left me speechless! I am so thankful! I enjoyed every minute and journaled as much as possible to preserve the memory of this trip. I loved visiting ancient archaeological sites, and learning from pastor DeLancey and our two amazing guides, Eli and Shlomo (I specially loved when Shlomo played the flute and sang for us in Hebrew; what a treat!). I loved that we sang and read the Bible everywhere we went, particularly in caves and churches with spectacular acoustics. I traveled back in time to the calling of the disciples as I watched the sunrise, meditated, and prayed by the Sea of Galilee. I could hear the Holy Spirit asking, “Would you obey me in such a radical way? Would you be willing to leave it all for my sake? Would you be prompt to obey? Would you surrender?” I prayed at the Wailing Wall and walked the streets of Jerusalem, which are full of beautiful colors, smells, food, and tradition.

We saw and experienced many things, but the part that pierced my heart was the desert. Yes, the desert! I never thought the desert could be so beautiful! As I stared at its majesty from David Ben Gurion’s tomb, the top of the canyon in the wilderness of Zin, the lookout in the Judean desert, where we heard pastor DeLancey read Isaiah 40, or overlooking the Dead Sea from the ancient city of Masada, I was rendered speechless by its vastness, its shades of brown, its shapes. As I meditated and journaled through the desert, I could hear that still small voice inside of me, the Holy Spirit, saying “when you are walking in the desert all you can see is the sand in front of you, the brown color for miles and miles, the dryness, but from the high place where I am, I can see its beauty, its vastness, its majesty; I can see your whole journey. Come close to Me, climb up higher so you can enjoy the view with Me. Once in a while, in the places where there’s water, you can see a patch of green. But you know, just like I did with the Samaritan woman, “a well of water springs up to eternal life” inside of you, and it does not depend on your surroundings, luscious green or desert, because I have filled you with life. Even in the desert you can flourish, you can create, you can run and play, because there is life inside of you. Wherever you go, life springs forth!” May the Lord help us embrace the journey we are in, even if it is in the middle of the desert. I’ll never forget sweet moments like this, when the truth of God’s Word became so alive. Blessings!”  Nydiaris (May, 2018, WI)

Thank you for such a great trip! Terry and I are truly grateful for the opportunity we had to travel with you and learn more about the Bible and the Israel our Savior walked in. We both feel that our experience will change forever the way we read our Bibles. We appreciate your passion and how you pointed to Christ in every scripture. We also appreciate the freshness even after so many presentations!”  Jim (March, 2018, LA)

Dr. John DeLancey’s tour to Israel/Jordan was incredible. Not only did we see more sites than most tours, we EXPERIENCED those places. Wherever we went, during our 13 days, we learned the archaeological background, the Biblical connections, the cultural insights, historical information, and, most of all, we grew spiritually as we walked where Jesus and the great men and women of the Bible walked. Our Israeli guide, Shlomo, was not only a wealth of information and insight into the Jewish nation, hearts, and history, he is a talented story teller, musician, and lover of art. He’s also really funny and entertaining and passionate about his land as well!

Needless to say, between John’s and Shlomo’s vast scope of knowledge, insights, and many years of experience in leading these tours, we were blessed beyond belief. I will never read the Bible the same way again, and I will now have a greater understanding and concern for the Israeli nation.

One thing to remember: John’s itineraries are ambitious and active. While all hikes and climbs are optional (the bus was available at all times), we had so much fun climbing over rocks, climbing up to caves, walking through tunnels, and walking up and down thousands of stone steps! And we walked and we walked and we walked, with John or Shlomo teaching the entire time. It was worth every drop of sweat, but be prepared for the opportunity to be very, very active. It’s great fun!! Biblical Israel Tours and Ministries is just the best tour out there; we looked at many before we chose John’s tour, and we are so glad we did!”  John & Audrey (March, 2018, TX)

Pastor John, I can’t stop “singing your praises” to everyone I have seen this week for leading us on such an inspirational and enlightening journey. You amazed me with your talent and thoroughness and organization of detail with audio and visual aids. The tour and your leadership went way beyond my expectations.  I continue to think about our adventures every day. Thank you again for such a memorable trip of a lifetime (and great exercise too!!).  May God continue to bless your ministry.” Karen (March, 2018, MO)

Darlene and I had the experience of a lifetime when we took your tour to Israel and Jordan in March 2016.  My parents were correct, that a visit to the Holy Land would be life changing.  I reflect quite often what a great educational experience, that your tour definitely did connect the dots. Darlene and I talk about how fortunate that we were to pick your tour over others. What an incredible trip with Biblical Israel Ministry and Tours!  Dr. DeLancey was an awesome teacher and guide along with Shlomo, full of insight and wisdom from a native Israeli perspective.  The tour went above and beyond my expectations, and left me with an appetite for more!  The sights were strategic and intentional; each day planned and full.  I loved the bonus hikes and optional walks in the evenings!  I have been recommending this tour to friends and family.  It is a must for those who want to experience walking where Jesus walked.  This tour was a life changing experience and monumental spiritually – plus the bonus of bonding in fellowship with such an awesome group of people touring together!” Jill (June 2017, IN)

This was my first trip to Israel and I wasn’t sure what to expect……… I absolutely loved it!!   Dr. John Delancey’s tour was full of great experiences!  The country is very modern and in 11 days, our tour group of 34 people traveled all over the country and found it to be very peaceful and hospitable.  This is the first time I was outside the USA where English is not the primary language, yet there was no problem with communicating with the local people.  The food on John’s trip was outstanding – buffet style presentations of typical “American” dishes plus middle eastern cuisine.  The hotel rooms were all modern, comfortable, and well-equipped.  Most hotels had free Wi-Fi, so I was able to use my regular iPhone in the hotels to send text messages without having to change the sim card to an Israeli sim card or rent a phone.  The tour bus was air conditioned and very modern and comfortable.  My family back home enjoyed following along on our adventures by reading the updates and photos John posted daily on his webpage.

The Bedouin camp in the Negev desert was my favorite adventure, with a camel ride in scenery that was surreal, like being in a movie set.  The Zin Wilderness had spectacular scenery as well.

Along the way we visited three small ancient churches or chapels in different villages where our group sang a few worship songs together, A’ capella.  Because of the internal architecture and size & shape of the vaulted ceilings, the volume and richness of the sound of our singing was incredible!!!!  I’ve been in professional recording studios where special effects were added to enhance the recorded sound, but this was purely amazing largely due to the natural acoustics of the chapel!!!

I have a newfound admiration for the Jewish people after seeing how they thrive in this desert country.  Israel has been in my thoughts every day in the weeks since I’ve been back home.  John’s explanation of each site we visited in terms of the passage of time and transition of ancient cultures is an awesome reflection of human history.  He performed readings from the Bible at each site, informing us of the biblical significance of the site.  John’s teaching literally brought the Bible to life before our very eyes.  I would go back in a heartbeat.  Thank you John!”  Tom (June, 2017, PA)

“Our 13-day tour of Israel, led by Dr. John DeLancey, exceeded our expectations in every way. This was our first time to Israel, and we feel very blessed to have found Dr. DeLancey’s tour.   There is nothing more powerful to reinforce and embolden your faith than to walk where Jesus actually walked and to see and touch the sites mentioned in the Bible! The topography, the archaeology and the scriptures just came together to put the Bible in IMAX mode. This was a more powerful experience than we expected. It absolutely melted our hearts.  The precipice of Nazareth, the Garden of Gethsemane, singing at St. Anne’s church, seeing the Wailing Wall at night…just so many beautiful moments that we will always cherish.

Dr. DeLancey is a masterful, knowledgeable and caring guide. His love for Christ and passion for Israel is certainly apparent in how he orchestrates this journey through the land of the Bible. He puts his heart and soul into shepherding his “travel family” through this beautiful land. It’s a guarantee that if you go with him, you will see and do things that no other tours do.  To call this a tour or a trip just doesn’t do it justice.  It is a life changing event! Our sincerest gratitude and blessings to Dr. DeLancey.” Cody & Valerie (TX, June, 2017)

“I finally have all my leg muscles stretched out and functioning well. A mid-week yoga class would do wonders for us pilgrims. I am still reflecting on all I experienced from our 11 days in Israel. I have to sort through the maps, itinerary and pictures so it doesn’t all run together. Just yesterday part of the sermon mentioned King Josiah and immediately the picture in my mind went to the gate where King Josiah removed the high place and replaced it with a toilet. Then in class, wandering Moses and the Israelites my mind immediately goes to the Wilderness of Zin and I can empathize with some of the grumblers and complainers! The bible is more alive than ever! My personal highlights were Masada (must return to do the snake path), En Gedi, Qumran (despite the heat), Megiddo (where Joshua died), and Mt. Hermon (renewed wedding vows). My over-the-top favorites were Magdala (such a strong presence of the Lord there) and the Garden of Gethsemane (realizing that Jesus prayed in full view of the city that was about to condemn him).

John, God has given you such an amazing heart and gift for Israel, not just the nation buy also the people. I have left part of my heart there and will be praying. They don’t need all those temple furnishings. They don’t need a new temple. They need Jesus. I will be praying for the peace of Jerusalem.  I pray our paths cross again, especially in Israel. My heart definately wants to return.” Kris (KY, June, 2017)

Next year – Jerusalem. This was my fourth journey with Pastor John, each of which has left me absolutely awe-struck.  His knowledge of the Bible, the countries, the people, places and archaeology is encyclopedic, and yet understandable to all.  At the end of each trip I do not say good bye but rather until next time.  I will continue to travel with him as long as able.  He has recently added state-side walks through Biblical archaeology for those who may not be able to do the overseas travel.  The next best thing to actually being there.” Tom (VA, April 2017)

Trying to give a full picture of the trip to Israel with John is like trying to describe salt…impossible. I can say that seeing the land of the Bible from Abraham to Jesus expanded my faith and help me realize the rock hard evidence of the events and history of the Bible. Whether climbing Mount Arbel  overlooking the Sea of Galilee, standing in Cave 1,where the Dead Sea scrolls were first found or praying in an olive grove on the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem, I am changed.  The God of Israel was with us every day. I heard Him in John DeLancey each day as he shared his knowledge of archaeology, scripture and his passion for Jesus Christ.  This trip is not the normal “10 day brochure” trip to Israel. It is based on the latest archaeological information and is filled with all the Biblical extras that John can squeeze into a day( including optional adventures for the young and young at heart)!!!!  IF you have not seen Israel with John DeLancey, you have missed out. Dan and I can truly say that we love God with more of  our heart, mind, soul and strength because of this experience.

We also came to a new understanding of our brothers, the Jews and their country, Israel. Our concerns for safety were wiped away as we realized that throughout Israel we felt safer than most cities we had visited in the US!  We were free to take evening walks or swims throughout our time in Israel. We opted for the walks allowing us to experience the communities around us.  Our Jewish guide, Shlomo opened his heart and home to us and we left determined not to forget the kinship we as believers have with the people of Israel.  We came back ambassadors for Israel.

John said no words would be adequate to explain this experience.  He was right. Biblical Israel tours provided luxury travel and hotels.  Breakfast and dinner was covered, everything was taken care of for us, including the flights! The group that God brings together for your trip will become family. All you have to do is go and receive what God has for you, John and his team makes that easy. Best investment we ever made!  Thank you, John”  Daniel & Beth (NC, April, 2017)

Never once did our group feel fear traveling into or out of Israel or around the country, even to the Golan Heights, near Syria! It was very safe even in the visited Arab cities and sites.” Michael (CA, April, 2017)

Dear John, My husband, son, and I returned from our Israel/Egypt trip changed people. Every day on this trip was awesome, but witnessing our son publicly proclaiming his faith in Jesus Christ and being baptized in the Jordon River was the highlight of our entire lives. From the peace and serenity of watching the sunrise on the Sea of Galilee, to praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, standing on the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, to riding up Mount Sinai on a camel, it is difficult to even have words to speak of the awesomeness of this trip. The Bible is definitely in 3-D for us as we read it with fresh eyes and a closer walk with God.”  Jacquelin, Jerry, & Jared (OH, April, 2017)

The Israel trip with Pastor John and his longtime guide & 23 in our group was absolutely the Bucket List, trip of a lifetime. The archaeological history of Israel sites we visited on our 1st leg of the trip, set the tone & background for our 2nd leg visiting Jerusalem. The Valley of Megiddo, Garden of Gethsemane, and Garden Tomb area were my highlights of the trip.  Don’t miss a chance to get baptized (or re-baptized) in the River Jordan! Never once did our group feel fear traveling into or out of Israel or around the country, even to the Golan Heights, near Syria! It was very safe even in the visited Arab cities and sites.” Michael (CA, April, 2017)

“I travelled to Israel April 2017 as a solo traveler from FL and had a wonderful experience. By day 1, I felt the warmth and comfort from the others and immediately felt at home. The trip was well organized and the guides very knowledgeable and engaging. So many historical sites to see that relates to the Old and New Testament, but Jerusalem was my favorite place. I felt so at peace and welcoming. I was home the moment we drove up the hill thru the Jaffa gates into Jerusalem; I was reminded of John in Revelation seeing the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.  One of my great moment was standing on Mt. Olives and looking around Jerusalem Psalm 125:2 came to my spirit; as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore. I didn’t want to leave back to the states as my heart is left in Jerusalem. I will definitely visit again with Dr DeLancey and team. Thanks for this wonderful experience.”  Dian (FL, April, 2017)

My friend Diane and I toured Israel in 2012.  It was an amazing experience and we wanted more!  The tour with Pastor John offered a larger venue of sites and more in-depth background of each site.  The tour was more than I ever imagined.  But first, let me say that I never felt in harm’s way or scared in any way.  Being in Israel is much safer than my home town of Charlotte NC!  Also the tour was very well planned and coordinated for each site visit, hotels, meals, etc.  We were kept well informed of the daily activities and preparations needed.  Also we loved Schlomo as our Israeli guide.  He is a wealth of Israeli and Jewish information and was very patient with all the questions. He plays the flute pretty well too!

My most memorable moments include the water baptism in the Jordan River (Yardenit), the tour of Petra in Jordan (most amazing site), Jerash Roman Ruins, Masada fortress, and always Jerusalem.  The Wailing Wall, the old city shopping, the Mt. of Olives, King David Hotel (on our free time), the Garden Tomb, and many other sites. I loved the view from Mt. Carmel, Mt. Arbel, and Mt. Nebo.  And we got to experience the Sea of Galilee, the Mediterranean Sea, the Dead Sea, and the Red Sea. Wow. The geography of Israel is overwhelmingly beautiful and so diverse.

Pastor John was so right when he said it would be hard to describe the experiences to someone who hasn’t been to Israel.  I cannot find the words to describe how visiting these sites has enriched my life.  I just begin to understand the environment of the Bible, the presence of shepherds and sheep and goats, the efforts to acquire water in an arid climate and desert, the abundance of fruit trees of dates, figs, pomegranates, and the trees of olives, the use of olive oil for fuel and dietary consumption, the carving of olive wood for decorations, the placing of rocks on burial tombs and much more. I loved every aspect of the tour. It is one of those experiences that I will always treasure.”  Sharon (NC, March, 2017)

“I am so happy we found you on your web site. This trip to Israel has been so very special to gain the geographical, geological, historical, and spiritual insight and illumination! To be able to walk and see the places where Jesus grew up and ministered was very precious!  Thank you for your expert coordination and planning as well. I never went to bed hungry! God bless and keep you! With appreciation.”  Marv & Kathy (WA, March, 2017)

“One of my most poignant moments was sitting on the Sea of Galilee. John recounted the story of Jesus going up to the mountain to pray after a long day of teaching. He told His disciples to go on across the Sea. Of course, we know that while in the midst of that body of water in the middle of the night, a terrible storm came up. The disciples felt that surely Jesus knew that would happen and had abandoned them. All the while, Jesus was on the mountain praying for them, and He would come to them at just the right moment – in just the right way . . .the most powerful way. John said, ‘Every one of us, if we are honest, have felt in the middle of our own “storm” that Jesus is far away . . . that He has abandoned us. All along He is waiting . . . praying for us and will come to us at just the right moment.’ One of my sons is in the midst of a “storm” in his life. I loved sending him a picture of the mountains surrounding the Sea and telling the accompanying story.  I knew that that particular moment I was experiencing was for my son.” Carol (KS, March 2017)

“John DeLancey in passionate about sharing his faith and his knowledge of the Holy Land, wanting each one on the tour to come into a closer relationship with Jesus.  God has gifted Dr. DeLancey with energy and enthusiasm to fulfill his role as servant-prophet.  He will surprise you with his talents along the way to make this trip of a lifetime especially enjoyable. Schlomo’s life story is extremely powerful, too, and not to be missed!  Can’t say enough about this adventure!” Carol (WA, March, 2017)

“This trip to Israel was above and beyond anything I ever expected. As we entered Israeli airspace all the passengers on the plane cheered. I have never experienced that when entering any other country. This is a Holy Land and there is such a connection spiritually that I don’t think I realized before. This journey was such a personal experience and so profoundly impactful. As priceless as this experience is for any believer, having the right leaders is key. For me, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than the one I had with Pastor John DeLancey and Shlomo as guides with David at the wheel, driving us. Pastor John overflows with a passion for this country and a love for God that is contagious.  You could see his love for God in the way he cared for the people on his tour, with a true Pastor’s heart. Throw in biblical knowledge, knowledge of the land through history and an adventurous spirit and you get a tour experience you don’t want to miss.  I was very pleased with the places we were able to visit and the extra opportunities that were made available for those who wanted to participate in them.  I was also impressed with the way Shlomo shared his heart and his families history with our group. He really broadened our understanding of the Jewish people, taking the time to explain their culture, customs and experiences throughout history and giving us insight into where they are at as a nation today. What I loved most though was when he played the flute for us and how he led us into Jerusalem with a song. My words can’t adequately describe how amazing and life changing this trip was for me or how much I appreciated what John and Shlomo brought into this experience. What I can express is that experiencing Israel in this way has awakened a deeper passion and hunger in me, to read and understand the Bible. It has given me better resources and physical references that continue to bring the Bible to life for me, as I read it. Because I am understanding better, I feel closer to God. Thank you for everything.”  Jennifer (CA, January, 2017)

“John, I would like to take a moment & express to you the spiritual richness of our days together in Israel.  Judith has been to Israel some 9 times and she said this was the very best! As for me, I learned a great deal that will advance my teaching of the Word of God.  Everyday was spiritually rewarding and we thank you so very much! You are an excellent guide and reader of His Word. Thanks…our new Friend in Christ.”  Herman & Judy (January, 2017)

“This was my first visit to Israel and hopefully will not be my last. I could not think of a better group to be with to experience connecting the dots of scripture to Israel’s history and archeology. Pastor DeLancey started each day with scripture, song and prayer with our group of 28.  Our Jewish guide, Schlomo will always be remembered. He has written a book about his life story that we have purchased. He went beyond my expectations in helping us to understand the rich history of the Holyland.”  Judy (September, 2016, WI)

“If you’re looking for an Israel tour that’s not “touristy” and that provides you with what I would call an equivalent of a Bible history, geography, and archaeological class in a Bible college, then a tour with Dr. John DeLancey, Director of Biblical Israel Tours & Ministries, is the tour for you.  His experience in leading close to 50 tours to Israel, studying in Israel, and excavating at biblical sites makes every site you visit come alive with spiritual and educational insights. His Israeli guide, Shlomo ben Asher, with whom he has worked for several years will further add to your experience of understanding the land of Israel with his insights and knowledge of Israel’s biblical and modern history and Jewish life.  Prior to your tour, the tour company Dr. DeLancey uses, Imagine Tours & Travel, will provide you with all the planning information you need to have a trip of a lifetime experience.  I have assisted in leading and also have led several tours to Israel.  My recently concluded tour with Dr. DeLancey was by the far the best one I’ve ever experienced. Check out the tours he is leading this year and next year.  Sign up for one that fits your schedule.  Believe me you won’t be disappointed, you’ll acquire an understanding of Israel not gained by listening to the media, and you will never read the Bible the same way again!” Dr. Dwaine Braddy (May, 2016, Retired professor, NW University, WA)

“Of course when one anticipates a journey like this one to Israel, there are going to be expectations. Every one of mine were met. Far and above what I could even think. Dr. DeLancey’s knowledge and experience and pastor heart made this an exceptional experience for us. Each place we went was enriched by connecting the dots from the site and history and the Bible. Dr. DeLancey did this in a way I have never experienced before. I know my Bible study and reading will never be the same. His knowledge of each site, the connection to the Bible and the archeological finds and insight gave us all an invaluable time that we will never forget. I so appreciated our Israeli guide, Shlomo ben Asher. He was so knowledgeable about all things Israel. And his musical gifts and humor made this such a fun journey all along the way. If anyone wants the best experience they can possible get in going to Israel, I highly recommend Dr. DeLancey and Biblical Israel Ministries and Tours.” Dennis & Linda (May, 2016, WA)

“I’m so glad I came with you on this tour I learned a lot and see Israel and the bible stories with other eyes. Thank you so much  for all your lessons you thought us and songs we sang in different places. The baptism in the Jordan river  and communion in the garden tomb  stands out in my memory for as long as I live.” Corrie (May, 2016, WA)

“Never in my mind did I ever think I would be able to say “I was in Israel.” Thanks to our church group and the wonderful guidance of Reverend Dr John DeLancey, and Imagine Tours, it was possible. The trip was full of OOHS and AHHHS. Everywhere we went was something “old” but new to our eyes. Being re-baptized in the River Jordan was one of my highlights. Swimming in the Sea of Galilee, one of 5, was another wonderful fun part. Getting up early one morning and watching the sun rise over Jerusalem, worshiping and praying in that time was so special, knowing Jesus did that frequently also made it more special. Getting to know my fellow travel companions that will forever bond us together. Thank you Beth for staying with me on the walk, and everyone else on that walk for your concern about my well-being. Thank you John, Shlomo and David for our safe and wonderful experience. God Bless you all.Anita (May, 2016, WA)

“For one full year before our May, 2016 trip people would ask me why I was brave enough to fly for 14 hours, and go to Israel of all places.  Safety and flying were on my mind, but God pulled me through with a peace I did not understand, until I got there.   That land is very blessed and rich with His presence.  His people are wonderful and so dedicated to their country.  I never felt safer.  Every experience proved the Bible to be right.  Communion in the Garden Tomb will forever be on my mind.  Music at the various sites will always be in my heart.  I will enjoy future postings to relive this awesome experience. Thank you Pastor John for this life changing blessing.” Lynda (May, 2016, WA)

“This was a wonderful experience for us to walk where Jesus walked to see what Jesus saw. When reading the Bible now makes the words come alive we can see the place in our minds. The tour was great and even more then we expected the interaction with Dr. Delancey , Shlomo and David made the surroundings come alive. We especially remember Mt Beatitudes, Mt of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane Garden tomb. We feel Blessed to have been with this tour group.” Jim & Evie (May, 2016, WA)

“I just have to share that our Israel April 2016 was an amazing trip in so many ways. I’m back to working, saving for another Israel trip! I feel I had the “outline” and the 2nd trip will be more enriching to encountering God. I’ve gone to the website and recall our adventures. From this last whole trip, it is difficult to  simply pick one(good luck with that!) outstanding moment. John and Shomo make a great team of advisors. While being baptized in the Jordan with the group was a privilege; I felt the Holy Spirit at Moshe’s store (proverbs 31 woman picture). I enjoyed the Garden of Gethsemane, looking into Jerusalem. But my pick for favorite would be the communion service at the Garden Tomb. We sang “in Christ Alone”. I wept with tears of gratitude for all the Lord Jesus has done for me. I’ve done many sharing opportunities with my dear, special residents where I work at the nursing home. Assisted Living wants a presentation too. It’s easy to share when you’re passionate about the subject. And Israel is.  Be blessed. Always.” Debbie (April, 2016, MN)

“John, I am so thankful for our recent trip to Israel and Jordan. Your guiding of the trip exceeded my expectations and your pastor’s heart for those on the journey was so evident. One of the favorite parts of the trip for me were all the “optional walks”. The opportunity to hike the land, to see sights that most travelers never see, was a great privilege. To be able to walk and hike the land as those we read of in the Scriptures did, gave such a depth of appreciation for what their everyday life was like. To see, touch, hear and smell the land of Israel, is something that has forever changed the way I approach my study of God’s Word. Thank You for your ministry and your passion for the land and God’s Word. Even though I’ve been to Israel before, I saw things and experienced things on this trip with you, I had never done before. If only all believers could make this same journey, their study of God’s Word would never be the same. Safety was never a concern on our trip, as there was never even a hint of any problems. I felt safer in my travels in Israel than I would in certain parts of the US. I would highly recommend that anyone who desires to change the way they study the Bible sign up for John’s next trip, your life will never be the same!  Thank you!” Pastor Tim Titus (March, 2016, Grace Bible Church, OR)

While in Jerusalem our group met with Dr. DeLancey’s good friend, Rabbi Moshe who told us, “You didn’t come to change Israel, you came to let Israel change you.”  Never could those words be more true than when thinking about our March tour.  From the first moment we arrived we began feeling the impact of Dr. DeLancey’s deep love for Israel, her people, and the Word of God.  Each day the bible became alive in new and exciting ways. With Shlomo’s incredible knowledge to guide us, and David’s incredible ability to navigate us, we were indeed in good hands!   We appreciated the thoughtfully planned and carried out itinerary which allowed us to investigate sites not always visited by other tours.  Every site explored, every lesson taught, every encounter experienced, left our hearts forever changed.  This is no ordinary tour, this tour is extaordinary.  If you desire the total Israel experience and if you want Israel to change you, this tour with John DeLancey is for you.  We were 48 people who began our journey as strangers and ended our journey as friends.  Thank you Pastor John for an incredible and unforgettable experience.  You are amazing!Tom and Margo Carlson (March, 2016, NE)

“Hi John, I wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for the trip.  You did such a great job bringing the bible alive as we visited each of the locations. Gwen and I like to be very active on our trips (we can rest at home!) so one of the reasons we picked your trip was the comment around full days.  This was our first “group” trip and I thought you did a great job allowing anyone to participate on the trip but then giving options for those who wanted to do more.  Also, I agree with your comment that this was a great group. The trip has already had me digging deeper into my daily bible readings as I have seen the locations that goes with the text. As to your question around safety, I have already commented to several people that I felt safer in Israel walking around during both the day and night than I do in many of the major cities in the U.S.  Finally, thanks for coordinating my baptism as doing an immersion baptism was something I have been wanting to do for a while.

You obviously have a gift for leading these trips and bringing the scripture and locations alive so I know you will be very successful in your new endeavor. Take care.” Renee (March, 2016, TX)

“Pastor John, We cannot say enough good things about our March, 2016 Trip to Israel. We miss you and all the wonderful people we met….and Shlomo and David were the frosting on the cake…. If we could do it again in a couple of months we WOULD—just singing together in the churches is worth the trip….:). Thanks to you and Shlomo for bringing the stories of the Bible, the historical narrative of Israel and the richness of the Bible Lands together into a beautiful whole. It was, and still is, an amazing and wonderful adventure that will take awhile to assimilate! The Israel Tour trip impacted us far more than we could ever have imagined. Thanks again! Until we meet again!” Donald (March, 2016, TX)

“I loved my visit to Israel, and the experience was enhanced by Pastor’s John Delancey’s teaching and good judgment.  John’s encyclopedic knowledge of archaeology provided surprising insights to all the sites we visited.  Our group was tenderly cared for, particularly a couple of people with high personal needs.  We were given thoughtful options of activities that varied according to our stamina and interests.  This was an impressive achievement considering our group varied in age from 32 to 96!  In much thanks to John’s pastoral skills, our group became a family.

In addition to John’s leadership, we also were engaged by delightful local experts from John’s vast network of friends.  I felt immersed in the local culture without ever feeling a threat to our safety.  I will be processing the memories for years, and I certainly hope to return.  I am so very grateful to have experienced Israel under the care of a true professional.Pastor Mike & Laura (January, 2016, KS)

I recently returned from a wonderful biblical Israel tour with Rev. John and his Israeli guide, Shlomo. They are a terrific team! They helped make the trip not only educational, but also very meaningful from a biblical and spiritual perspective. These tours are much more than simply “seeing the sights.” The tours are focused on how the places and history we see in Israel relate to the message of Scripture and God’s message and plan for each of us.

I would not hesitate to recommend Biblical Israel Tours and Imagine Travel and hope to go back with a group someday with them as our tour guides. The travel was smooth and safe, the accommodations excellent, and I felt included and encouraged by everyone in our tour group. Thanks Pastor John for this amazing experience and I encourage you as you continue in this wonderful ministry!” Pastor Justin (January, 2016, PEI, Canada)

What an incredible experience! I loved how John connected everything back to Scripture. The Bible really came alive. I highly recommend taking a trip with John DeLancey and Biblical Israel Tours.” Bonnie (October-November, 2015, MN)

In Israel we visited many sites and John knew just about everything about the sites we were at. He had a lot of experience in Israel and knew his way around. He gave us many options which made it enjoyable for older and younger tourists.” Tim (Oct-November, 2015, MN)

Our trip with John DeLancey was amazing! John is a great leader who connects all the dots on the playing field. We always knew what region we were in, historical and archaeological facts, and of course the tie to the Scriptures. John was always reviewing where we had been which really helped to cement it in our brains. We went to several off the beaten path sites. We took our Solid Rock School of Discipleship students and they would comment over a lot of the trip that we had Israel to ourselves! John did a great job of bringing together college students, middle aged adults and senior adults in a way that was extremely rewarding to all ages. He integrated hikes that were for everyone and some that were for those who wanted a greater challenge. We also had a wonderful bus driver, David who was lots of fun to connect with. Our Israeli tour guide Shlomo is the best! He gave us so much insight into life in Israel and information about the sites. Shlomo, John and David were an absolutely great team! We couldn’t have been happier with all that our students learned along the way. We look forward to next year’s trip with John and our next class of students!!!” Nancy (October-November, 2015, MN)

One thing that I was surprised at was how peaceful it all seemed. You hear all of these stories about how there is all of this political and social unrest in Israel and about how there are radical groups causing trouble in the Middle East but I didn’t really experience that at all when I was there. It was so interesting to see how safe it seemed in Israel even being near all of the soldiers there. I made this observation to most of the others that I have felt less safe in downtown Minneapolis.” Ben (Oct-Nov, 2015, MN)

Whether you are on a new spiritual path or enhancing your faith you will not be disappointed with BiblicalIsraelTours and Imagine Tours.  With Dr John Delancey’s knowledge of the Bible and extensive knowledge of archeology along with Shlomo Ben Asher’s incredible detail for Israel’s history you will walk away with a better appreciation for God’s word and Israel.  Dr John’s tours are busy from sunrise to sunset and after if you choose.  Your days are full walking the steps of the Bible and Israel’s historical paths.

From the time you book your trip to the time you arrive home your days are managed thoroughly.  You wont need to wonder what you’ll do next.  Dr. John’s tours are thoughtfully planned out and every detail accounted for.  And the tours are not stiff like some.  John and Shlomo have wonderful sense of humors.  I can’t thank John and Shlomo enough.  They have changed my life. I will definitely book another tour.  If you have any reservations about Israel because of safety concerns please don’t.  I have first hand knowledge of Israel’s safety.  I was welcomed warmly by all with friendly conversation and a smile.  Please do not let the news or public opinions from people who have never been to Israel sway you.  I’ve felt less safe in some cities in America.  Thanks John, Shlomo and ITT you are the best!!” Malinda (September, 2015, CN)

As you are aware we chose your tour to accommodate our volunteering schedule with BFP, we soon learned that Yeshua is in control of your tour and it was a divine appointment that we met. We have a great appreciation of Shalomo our guide and David our autobus driver. I’m not sure of the total number of sites we visited but it must have been over 50 in just ten days. The connections you made to the Tanakh and Renewed Testament and the biblical lands are astounding. Grace and I have been on many Israel tours in the past seven years and thought those tours were pretty good; we now know they can’t compare to the preparation and dedication you put into each tour. I especially loved the flexibility to stop along the route and see something you and Shalomo thought we would enjoy seeing. Hiking up and down the same Tels and valleys that Yeshua walked, will be a memory never forgotten. And as we all say, Next year in Jerusalem.” Mickey and Grace (September, 2015, FL)

The trip was fantastic and far exceeded my hopes and expectations. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into the teaching and the spiritual connections. I loved every minute of it, even the steep mountain climbs. The time spent visiting the archeological sites such as Jericho and Lachish was fascinating, and correlated well with the Biblical Archeology course I had taken last year. I especially enjoyed Masada, the Qumran cave, Mt. Carmel, and the Mt. of Beatitudes. Of course, the Jerusalem sites were wonderful adventures, loved viewing Jerusalem from the Mt. of Olives across the Kidron Valley, the Israel Museum, the City of David, and Hezekiah’s Tunnel. All in all, an unforgettable experience. And never a fear of feeling unsafe, always felt very safe and at home. Thanks again for organizing this trip!” Sharon (September, 2015, PA)

We just returned from our fourth trip to Israel and we are still in awe of God’s Promised Land.  Each time we’ve gone, we feel God’s peace surrounding us. The Bible literally comes alive as we glean more and more information about the sites throughout Israel. Thank you Pastor John and Shlomo for sharing your wealth of information about the history and biblical importance of each site.” Warren & Susan (September, 2015, IN)

“Hi Pastor John,  I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful time and unforgettable journey in Israel.  I so appreciate your sensitivity and heart towards God and His Spirit. Blessings to you!” Terryne  (September, 2015, VA)

“What a trip!  Leading up to visiting Israel we were excited with anticipation, but boy did it exceed anything we had imagined.  The leadership was outstanding as Pastor John and Israeli tour guide Shlomo complemented each other while they broke down the Jewish culture, past and modern history, biblical connections/application, and geography of Israel at every site.  We were pleasantly surprised with how many sites and artifacts we were shown and how seamlessly our trip was organized, witnessing Pastor John continually trying to improve his tours with new sites and optional hikes.  Throughout the week and a half we were taken well care of.  There was no discomfort in any way as we stayed in very nice hotels, ate great food, and enjoyed a comfortable, air conditioned bus driven by our expert driver, David.  With packed days of touring, we enjoyed restful evenings with optional group meetings, swims, and walks on a few of the nights.  Even though it was the dry, hot, summer season, we enjoyed clear weather to see every site we stopped at, and no other crowds pressuring us to rush through things or stray into our line of sight for pictures.  We also felt safe and secure throughout our travels, allowing us to delve fully into what we were learning and what God was teaching us about Himself.

Besides getting along with our guides, we quickly experienced camaraderie between the rest of our group, which made little things like traveling, eating, and taking pictures fun.  Thank you all for loving on us; we thank God for you and this short time we were able to connect.  And most importantly we thank God as we recognize all the lessons we learned along the way.  He definitely used this trip to reveal new things to us as we learned more about the Bible, God, and ourselves.  Hopefully there are future opportunities to visit again!Josh, Elise, & Parker (July, 2015, KS)

“Just wanted to thank you for the great experience we had touring the beautiful country of Israel.  Every detail of the trip was so well planned, we felt we wasted little time. Our ambitious agenda was exactly what we wanted, as who knows if we will ever be privileged enough to return. We so enjoyed the “major sites”, but also appreciated the little known places we visited. Even with our relatively small group, it was nice that we often had options of ways to travel.  Also, the combination of your Biblical and archeological expertise and Shlomo’s Jewish heritage and unique life experiences were a magical combination.  I will never forget hearing Shlomo’s Israeli songs played on the recorder or sung. In short, we left enriched spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally. God bless, and if He wills, we may join you on another trip someday!” Rick & Jamie (July, 2015, TX)

“Our visit to Israel has been the most meaningful travel experience we have ever had.  We found the insight and context provided by John and Shlomo covering Biblical, Archeological, Historical, as well as personal experience incredibly powerful in bringing the places we visited to life.  The attention to detail that had gone into planning was clearly evident as the flow and ease with which we moved from site to site, our accommodation, meals, and information handed out was so smooth and without any drama. Our accommodation was excellent as was the food.  This was an active tour and we loved that about it and John had extra options up his sleeve that he discussed with us along the way.

Many people had questioned our visiting Israel as an unsafe place to visit, a perception perhaps held by many.  We spent 3 weeks in Israel, 12 days with the DeLancey tour and a further 9 days doing our own thing.  We never felt threatened or even uncomfortable.  What a wonderful place to visit, and visit again.

John, Kate and I are so appreciative of your accommodating our late inclusion into the July tour.  We had a wonderful time and really missed everyone once the group left us in Jerusalem.  Our families did follow the blog daily and were really grateful for your installments which really included them in our experience.  Thank you for your commitment to doing that.

I believe your ministry brings a smile to God’s face as his people experience the land of the Bible. We are very grateful and blessed to have experienced it ourselves.” Grant & Kate (July, 2015, New Zealand)

“No doubt the trip of a lifetime. The organization of the trip, the sites seen, the tour guides knowledge and even the cost far exceeded my expectations. Anyone looking to travel here needs to use Biblical Isreal Tours. I WILL be back!!” Sabrina (March, 2015, WI)

“Pastor John is extremely knowledgeable on all things Biblical and Israeli and then some! I had a great time re-exploring Israel and seeing new sites plus Jordan with him.” Amy (March 2015, FL)

“The precious privilege of sharing God’s word and seeing His Land, His people and confirmation of Biblical History Old and New Testament is a memory that will come back to us all as we turn the pages of our bibles. To really experience the dust and rocks under our feet as Jesus and His disciples experienced, to walk in the Garden of Gethsemane where our Lord and Savior sweated drops of Blood is a powerful wonder stored in our hearts.  To see the Dome of the Rock that looks so commanding on the hill but knowing this will not always be, to see The Eastern Gate that Jesus King of Kings and Lord of Lords will walk through.  And will be the authority to the world from that Mount, I have no words to describe.

Hearing and knowing the unrest on all borders of Israel and we only felt peace, no fear of turmoil or war. Being in Israel and very aware of the enemies surrounding them has made it so very real the need for our prayers for the TRUE PEACE of Jerusalem which is the return of their/our Lord and Saviour.  This tour that exceeded expectations was also blessed by our wonderful leader and guide.  Pastor John your knowledge of archeology and spiritual understanding Of Gods word is a blessed ministry that God will use for His Purpose. Your leadership and care of our crew is very appreciated.

As for Shlomo, what can we say, such a humble man a privilege to have met and the expounding knowledge he imparted was overwhelming.  Thank you to Shlomo for bearing his raw heart in the holocaust history of his family.  Can still hear his voice come here, again such a reminder as Jesus calls us Come!  You all have left footprints on our heart and memory as we shared our footsteps on the trails of Jesus.” Ken & Maureen (September, 2014, Australia)

“A special thanks to all who made this trip a real blessing to our family.  It certainly was life changing.  Of all the trips we have ever taken, this one was by far the best.” Bernie & Paula (September, 2014, UT)

“Dear Pastor John, Karen and I were especially blessed to have been able to participate in the September 2014 Biblical Holy Land Tour with you and the other members of our group…now considered “extended family”! The bonding was truly remarkable. Your ability to relate scripturally to each of the historical sites we visited; and, your extraordinary back ground in archeology combined to make our experience deeply meaningful and spiritually enriching.  Our reading of the Bible will be influenced by this experience the rest of our lives.  When we read the Word now it is made even more alive by our memory of having walked among so many of those Biblical settings.  Our appreciation for the day-to-day things that Jesus used to make his teachings relevant has been greatly enhanced.  We read His references to everyday things like water or shade with new meaning.  You and Shlomo Ben-Asher, are truly a ‘dynamic duo.’  We listened intently to every word Shlomo had to say with sincere interest.  He is truly exceptional as an engaging teacher and person.

It is important to mention how welcomed we felt while in Israel and Jordan.  Our experience was marked by encounters with people from all walks who were cordial and helpful.  We never experienced any concern about our safety.  We felt very comfortable and secure during the entire visit.  I would return tomorrow without any hesitation.  It was a great trip!” Oral & Karen (September, 2014, VA)

“The whole experience was awesome.  Pastor John and Shlomo (our guide) are the “best of the best”!  So thankful for your ministry that reflects years of studying and a heart for God and His leading!  We were all truly blessed beyond measure!  Ephesians 3:20 says that “God does exceedingly abundantly more than we ever asked or imagined.”  I think God was so true to His character on this trip!” Judy (September, 2014, KY)

Bro John, Let me say once again, thanks, for the amazing time Danna and I had with you, Shlomo and the rest of our extended family. We were blessed beyond measure and I think we all can relate to the Apostle Paul’s experience when he was caught up to the 3rd heaven and saw things he didn’t have the words to describe! I’m still trying to wrap my brain around ALL we saw and heard ! What a life changing time. If I was in charge, it would be a prerequisite for every seminary student to tour the Holy Land before their first semester!

When it comes to safety, I take a chance every day when I get into my truck,(or motorcycle) to go to work and I don’t think anything about it. It’s what we do, right? Did I think about it before I put myself, Danna and our church family in harm’s way ? Yes I did. I got my information from John, Shlomo(who lives there in Jerusalem) and I put my faith and trust in God. Here in America or there in Israel, that’s all we can do. And I can say, like so many others have, I never once thought we were in harm’s way. I look forward to returning to Israel and experiencing another journey with Bro John and Shlomo! May God continue to bless your ministry.” Rev. Wayne & Danna (September, 2014, TX)

It was a blessing to us to have been part of such a wonderful group of people.  We will have our video and wonderful pictures which will be a constant reminder of our trip to Israel and Jordan.  Thank you John for sharing your love and knowledge of Israel with us.  We have grown in faith and can’t wait to share our experience with our family and friends.  We have many favorites of our trip, however, our being baptized in the Jordan River was our highlight.” Roger & Marylyn (September, 2014, FL)

Our trip to Israel was a wonderful experience. We felt and saw the land in which Jesus walked. So much to see and learn. Our leader Pastor John, along with our guide Shlomo introduced us to a land and people we had so wanted to meet. Pastor John and Shlomo did not disappoint. They are the best! Although the political climate was uncertain, it never entered our minds that we should not be there. We were safe, and welcomed in a land full of wonder. We were at peace knowing God had wanted us to come to this great land. We both want to come again someday.” Bob & Annette (September, 2014, FL)

As I reflect on the trip, I ask myself why was it so special? Not having any other Israel tour with which to compare, I can only look at our ten days and attempt to discern what made it an incredible experience.

I think any trip to the Holy Lands is bound to be special – it is a special place and evokes so many emotions and feelings as one recalls the Bible stories associated with each Holy sight. However, there is much that can be added that serves to enrich the experience.

Your knowledge and love of God’s Word and Israel paired with Shlomo’s passion for the history and land creates an exciting atmosphere for learning.  The combined years of experience you both bring to the tour and the compatibility with which you work together makes you an incomparable leadership team. I learned so much more about Israel than I ever expected to – insights both into the conflicts that took place in the days of the Bible as well as new understanding of today’s political climate.

I also commend the quiet moments of reflection and prayer that you build into the day, giving us the opportunity to hear God’s voice in His Holy Land. The brief worship in the evenings, and the singing throughout the day at different sights gave us the opportunity to thank & glorify Him.

People keep asking me what was the highlight of the trip – a more appropriate question would be what was the highlight each day? The thread that you weaved through the entire tour that single handedly touched my heart each and every day was the singing – I  LOVE music and the fact that I can’t sing or carry a tune does not stop me from singing God’s praises! Each song you chose for the different places we visited was perfect – showing me your attention to detail as you plan each day.

Thank you, Pastor John, for the opportunity to experience the Holy Land with you and Schlomo. I appreciated your understated style, your quiet leadership, your love for God & His people.  I have a feeling that we may be on another tour – and hope to spark an interest in others to join us!” Renee & Comp (June, 2014, MD)

Dear Pastor John, What an incredible journey this has been for me… it was not just about the History of Israel, or being where Jesus walked, preached, lived, loved, and died for us, but it was about a deeper walk with God.  It says in Psalm 42:7 Deep calls to deep and in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. I can tell you this… they have swept over my heart in a profound way that I am changed 4ever.

Pastor John you truly have a heart for the people you tour, your passion and desire is to see each and every one of us to come and see that the Lord is good, for us to have the eyes of our spiritual hearts open to see and hear God speak to our hearts, you take us off the beaten path to places most tour groups do not go, just so we can learn and grow more.  I want to thank you for Shlomo our fantastic tour guide I was inspired by his passion and history for his beloved state of Israel.  Touched by his desire that that same passion be transferred into our spirits and believe me, it has! Shlomo was more then a tour guide…  he is a friend and both him and his beautiful wife Rachel and their family embraced each and every one of us by taking us into their home and showing us the love of God through their warm and loving hospitality.  What a special, blessed time as we were able to mourn with our brothers and sisters in Israel on their Memorial Day, and we were able to laugh and dance with them as they celebrated their Independence Day!

“I am grateful for all the beautiful people of Israel and around the world that we met along our journey. I thank God for making this dream of mine become a reality… for giving me more then I could of ever asked, hoped for or imagined.  I am truly blessed and grateful and my heart is overwhelmed by the Love of God not only from God but overwhelmed by the Love of God through His people. Thank you Pastor John for an incredible, heart and life changing experience.  May God continue to bless you and use you mightily to increase His Kingdom!” Lois (April-May, 2014, FL)

“Pastor John.  It was the best trip we’ve ever experienced. We can’t stop talking about it and are so thankful for such an experience. Of course, our bible comprehension is greatly enhanced by seeing the land of Israel. You organized such a wonderful itinerary, tailored for our smaller group and your intense pace increased our capacity to learn (and to hike and climb!). You blessed us beyond measure. In Christ,” Kathy & Tom (April-May, 2014, WA)

“I wanted to walk where Jesus walked, to literally follow in His steps. With Pastor John leading us, every step was a blessing. We experienced the Holy Land in an authentic way as he lead us to places that were not typical tourist sites where we could truly see how things would have been in Bible times. We read the scriptures pertaining to each location, and we worshiped together.

I learned a wealth of historical and archeological information that greatly enriched my encounter. I experienced a paradigm shift of my Christian perspective as my preconceived ideas about God’s other children, both Jews and Muslims, were challenged and expanded.  My life is far richer today. For anyone who has ever considered traveling to Israel, I say, “Don’t miss this opportunity!”

“Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him.”   ( I Corinthians 2:9)  While this scripture is one we read with a future orientation, it in fact perfectly describes my tour experience with Biblical Israel Tours!” Celia (March, 2014, CA)

“Pastor John, The March 2014 trip to Israel and Jordan that my wife and I had the true divine privilege of experiencing with you is beyond what words can express.  We truly believe that our Lord Jesus Christ had led us to you and this tour. The experience that had occurred on the tour itself was confirmation to us that it was such a divine blessing!  Your energy and passion for Jesus and the land of Israel combined with the love of country and unsurpassed knowledge by our tour guide (Shlomo) radiated throughout the entire group and brought the land of Israel and our Lord Jesus to life in a way that can only be experienced and not explained.  Your very active approach to share and see as much as possible and yet tempered with options and varying opportunities based on the abilities of various members in the group was appreciated by all and was an expression of your faith in action.  As a result of this trip, Christ Jesus and His Word truly came alive to us in a new way and has drawn closer to Him as a result.  We praise God for you and your ministry and encourage all to share this experience!!” Kevin and Shelly (March, 2014)

“Pastor John, many, many thanks especially to you but also to everyone at Imagine Tours for making this incredible journey possible. Everything was top notch! Your knowledge of this land is amazing and we truly will never  be the same after this tremendous experience.” Rich & Sandy (March, 2014, OH)

Qeiyafa & the Elah Valley

Kh. Qeiyafa is located in the Shephelah (lowlands) of Judah. This archaeological site sits on the edge of the Elah Valley. This is one of five primary valleys that run west to east from the Coastal Plains to the Hill Country of Judah. These valleys provided a natural route for transportation.

It was in the narrow part of the Elah Valley where David fought Goliath, the Philistine giant (1 Samuel 17). It was here where God brought victory as David battled in the strength of the Lord!
